  1. Fire Eduardo Perez Cool graphic. Why is the guy in a tie, though? Bizarre. The reason the guy is in a tie is because he's one of the characters from Office Space, a 1996 Comedy. Here's the original scene, where he's actually attacking a fax machine and not a Horse.
  2. No hanley, we only expected you to hit .240, so we were all happy with your performance and most importantly, you were fine with it also. I could live with .270 and a better POPAWOPBIP. Just saying.
  3. Hanley's words on "The Franchise" were more than comical.... "I hit .340 one year, so I guess these people expected me to hit .350 the next year, then .360 and .370." This guy just doesn't get it. To him, It's always everyone else's fault except Hanley. What does he mean by "these people"?
  4. Was it just me, or live did it look like he didn't have decent range at SS or 3B? It seemed like balls he could have gently dove for he let get into the OF for a hit, and unless he can get to a ball on the run he almost didn't even try... Were my eyes deceiving me or did anyone else see it too?
  5. The Hanley Ramirez trade is not about who they got in return. Its about the fact that the Dodgers are paying his salary . Edited Lord Magnus Quote "The Hanley Ramirez trade is not about who they got in return. Its about the fact that the Dodgers are paying his salary [for a player who hasn't performed for two years.]" I fixed that a bit for you, the way you worded it made it sound like it was a firesale. Yes, but there's no guarantee the front office will use the money toward pay roll. It was still a baseball move regardless. They can replace Hanleys production this year with a Free Agent, Look at Jorge Cantu from a few years ago. We may not spend the money, but we can get the same production or better. Too bad Edwin Encarnacion is off the market, and the Mets will probably pick up Wrights cheap option (where last year it was an expensive one, funny how things eventually flip aroung)

  7. Trades are touchy with Marlins fans given that the entire fanbase is still generally emotionall scarred from Wayne Hizenga And I'd place a hefty wager half of the fan base still thinks they are owned by CraterFace. Only those who care enough to follow a bit are in the know.
  8. Two of the Marlins beat writers were the ones who thought he wasn't coming back. Because Ozzie speculated such. If it was as severe as last time no point in bringing him back for a week anyway
  9. Why not DL Peterson- call up Coghlan and pray for another rainout or two today? Because this is the Marlins and we don't use the DL for small injuries. As long as the guy can be back before 15 days why waste the money on a plane ticket for a guy who could actually play in the meantime? How many other teams do you follow as closely as you do the Marlins, by chance? He follows the Cubs. I ask because I see fans of teams nitpick stuff like that all of the time, so I want to know if they know how other teams handle situations like this. I can say with a strong amount of certainty, that this is not a Marlin-specific thing that he is criticizing them for, but he is making it seem as if the Marlins are the only team that does this. Welcome to the board- where trading players with expiring or bloated contracts in a lost season is a firesale, and where the Phillies do the same thing and it's "Baseball Moves". #FML

I get to endure firesales, "market corrections" and the Wilpons atleast every year. #FML
  11. Pile it on Admin. Pile it on.
  12. Look at the bright side. We get to do it again in about half an hour.
  13. Hello, Chris. Or as they call you around the boards: Piazza. I want you to make a choice. There's a slow-acting poison coursing through your system, which only Beinfest has the antidote for. Will you murder a mother and her child to see the Marlins Contend? Listen carefully, if you will. There are rules. ... (Snip) You know what I just read? Fixed.
  14. Frickin Sloppy Bitches
  15. Why not DL Peterson- call up Coghlan and pray for another rainout or two today?
  16. This team wasn't a Carlos Lee type bat away from making the playoffs. The Team was "Wake the F up or were trading you" away from the playoffs. They did what they could to give them a hand and jump start them. Didn't work. No one knew some of those bats would OD on Sleeping Pills and stay asleep. Gaby, Hanley, Morrison, Buck- No team can compete with some of your best bats hitting .200 on the year. That easily should have been our 3rd, 5th,6th and 8th hitters all slumping to the point they are as useless as a condom in a whorehouse.
  17. 4 RBI tonight He's ready.
  18. If the marlins had their way it would have been firesale 3 with bell Buck and lee gone. Not that I would blame them or be against moving those turds. How do you expect the fanbase to feel? Also this board has over hyped eovaldi. Eovaldi has played in the big leagues, which is more credit that WQAM doesn't even figure to give. WQAM is filled with sloppy bitches though, what else could we expect. Atleast on 790 they make it seem like it's part of their job to be informed on all the teams even if they are talking about movies and monster dongs.
  19. Loria and the wet rat are pieces of sh*t. This is a salary dump all the way. If those assholes were willing to eat some of that contract they could have gotten a much better return. I wish they would sell the team Lol okay. Hanley playing and putting up numbers to even half his capability would have increased his value. AND NEVER would have been traded either. The trades already done- you could have seen how little Hanley cared when he struck out looking on his final pitch as a Marlin as the game ending at bat. He pretty much skipped back to the dugout and went straight to playing his crappy music in the dugout I bet.
  20. Ok here's Morrison's splits, courtesy of Baseball Reference.com Pre-eduardo 2010. Bats .283, .837 ops 2011 April. Bats .327, 1.061 ops 2011 may. Bats .313, .912 ops Post-Eduardo 2011 June. Bats .200, .617 ops 2011 July. Bats .212, .733 ops 2011 aug. Bats .219, .702 ops 2011 sep/oct. Bats .264, 904 ops 2012. Bats .230, 707 ops Just a coincidence that he started sucking just after Eduardo is hired on June 8, 2011? He also has been injured- don't you remember why he didn't play much in May 2011? Couldn't have his injury just slowed him up- much like this years knee issue.
  21. If placed on waivers, and the Marlins decide to let him walk like they did Cody Ross.... Could Carlos Lee reject that too? Curious.
  22. Hanley trade is a loss. Never liked Hanley. I'll take Mike Lowell's defense over Hanley's offense any day. Also the hidden ball trick, that was awesome. The man only has one ball! He beat cancer, Hanley punched a cooling fan and then got his hand infected. He's amazing. Anibal is a good pitcher but Beckett is superior - in 7 years Anibals W-L record is 44-46, Beckett at twelve years is 130-90. Extrapolating Anibals numbers to twelve years and Beckett still comes out on top in wins. Becketts got at least 1639 strike outs in twelve years. Anibal has 679 in 7. That's about 140 per year for Beckett and 98 per year for Anibal. I dont see a win In a trade where we got a no hitter and some batting titles while the red sox got two All Star MVP's and a Championship. Peanuts. If it makes you feel any better, we traded Sheffield, Johnson, Bonilla, Jim Eisenrich and Manual Barrios for Nathan Eovaldi. You figure it out
  23. Your list lost all credibility when you called Mike Hampton to ATL a loss and a salary dump. He refused to report to Florida and was never meant to be in our rotation. The Marlins if I remember correctly actually paid for Hampton to pitch in ATL
  24. Percentage of plate appearances without putting the ball in play. Yes, I googled it, and all I got was a link to a twitter account talking about Morgan Freeman mentioning this stat on Dan Lebatard's show. If you're going to reference some completely obscure stat, say where it's from and what the numbers are. Mentioning it without any context is just a dick move. Sorry, I was trying to fit in with the rest of you stat heads, pulling random sh*t into conversations. I apologize in advance for using said stats in the future.
