Hayes to AAA, Brantly selected

Featured Replies

About time! Love this move, the kid is gonna be a really good catcher, at least better than what we have!!!

Strange they didn't want to wait for September call ups.

Guess they really want this kid to show something so they can start him next season.

Hopefully by calling him up now, they are committed to giving him the starting job. No point in calling him up to take over Hayes' role.

.365 BA in his 14 games at AAA for the Marlins but a fortunate .415 BABIP and only 1 walk (9 K's) in 54 plate appearances.

According to marlins.com, they are going to try to work him in as much as they can. Bat is fine, but has alot of work to do behind the plate. Defense is still a high priority for the team.

All-in-all, not a bad move. If he shows a willingness to learn and some improvement defensively then this may be the last season of Buck here. Both our catchers have had a very bad season. But then, so has just about everybody else. Nothing lost in this move, and maybe alot gained.

this is true....i'd rather watch some of the prospects as painful as it may be as times because you can at least hope for someone to suddenly prove they are MLB starting quality...we already know what we have with Buck and Hayes...it would be a shame though if they only let him play in Hayes's role as backup because that would just damage him more than help..he needs the AB's and time behind the plate...anyone know if he has a strong arm or not?

sweet. :wee

looking forward to watching him play. And even happier about not having Hayes in our lineup. When we rollout Hayes and Gorkys and give Stanton a night off, the opposing SP must fistpump for a good 30 seconds in the locker room before the game.

I hope his wife isn't being sent down too.

I hope she is. ;)

HEY OHHHHHHHHHHH

Im guessing they showed the wifey's on The Franchise?

couldnt find nuttin' online on that broad.

Brett Hayes has a solid 41.5 K% this year. Despite how bad his #'s suck, he actually has a .354 .BABIP. Starting catcher!

I hope his wife isn't being sent down too.
