The roof? The roof opens to the sky. The fact that the east end is movable glass (or Lexan, or whatever) has nothing to do with anything. There is still no good explanation for why they couldn't have designed it to put the home amenities on the west side instead of the north side. The roof opens to the east, not "they sky", that's why those giant pillars and tracks are there. And that's the reason, they've actually said it multiple times. The way the footprint ended up, there was going to be more space on the 3B side.

Home dugout is going to be on the 3B side. As opposed to the 1B side at Sun. Why? It was supposedly a matter of design issues -- where they had room to put stuff like the larger and better home clubhouse, training rooms, food prep area, hitting area, etc., or so they say. Apparently there is more room under the stands on the North side than the West side. Doesn't make a lot of sense since they were designing from scratch and should be able to put things wherever they want, although I'm sure there were design issues I'm not aware of. I agree with this. But that was the reason they gave. And its the real reason too. There are more rooms behind 3b dugout for player amenities, and they spared no expense (cue old guy from jurassic park). True. But what we are saying is that they designed the place so why not just shift things in the original design to put more room behind the 1B side? It really dosen't matter to me, just wondering what the reason was. Because of the footprint of the stadium. Remember, no matter what, the roof was going to open in LF for that downtown view. The way that set up the footprint, there was going to be more room on the 3B side.

Its a dumb trade to win a championship? I disagree. Even if they had kept Gonzalez, do you really think he'd be a part of the team right now? It's not like it was a straight up trade for a certain championship. To trade a future franchise hitter for half a season of a reliever is extremely risky. Who's to say the Marlins might not have won more rings with Gonzalez in the lineup for years. Who's to say if we could have gotten a different reliever and not give up Gonzalez and still won the series. Who's to say we couldn't have gotten Urbina without giving up Gonzalez. Just because we won the world series doesn't mean that's a good trade. Imagine if the Nationals make a run at the playoffs this season and they need a reliever so they trade Harper for Heath Bell, and end up winning the series. Is that definitely a good trade just because they win the series? YES! The entire point of playing this game is to hold up this: If you're holding that up at the end of the year, you did it. Sidenote: I find the phrasing of that sentence funny. "Just because they win the series". As if it wasn't the only truly important goal in the sport.

Least valuable player? Probably not, but he's might the biggest disappointment of the year since he was arguably the second best player in the league going into the season. But there have been a lot of players (including some on our team) who have been worse than Hanley to this point. LVP, in my opinion, is Dan Uggla, who leads the league in failure: his .257 OBP is the worst in the league, not to mention being one of the worst defensive 2B in the league (3rd worst +/-, worst UZR, second most errors).
