  1. Man, spin it however you want, but I doubt they had only 600 people there in Texas. We are the only place where that ever happens. Attendance won't be announced for several innings, but this appears to be the smallest actual attendance I've ever seen in Arlington in 12 seasons. There is not a single section in the stadium that looks even half-way full. Some in the press box have guessed seriously that there are less than 1,000 people here. I'm going to say it's under 2,500. I'm sure it will be announced as 12,000 to 15,000 in paid attendance, but there aren't 12,000 appendages in the ballpark today. http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/archives.../the-crowd.html FWIW
  2. Wolf gives up a homer and a few walks, but finishes it out with a strikeout on Jimenez and a groundout on Ludwick. 13-7 FINAL
  3. I'm jealous of all of you. Yeah, the only games I'll be making this season most likely are weekend trips to the Nationals and Phillies series in May. Living in Huntsville, I'll probably catch a couple of the Carolina Mudcats games when they have an extended series in June.
  4. Make it 13-6 off of another Maybin bomb.
  5. Actually 10-6 Fish JINX!
  6. According to Yahoo!, another run tacked on. 10-6 Bottom of the 8th Fish
  7. According to Yahoo!, another run tacked on. 9-6 Bottom of the 8th Fish
  8. Yahoo! shows Hanley with a solo shot. 6-4 in the bottom of the 5th
  9. Treanor left the game with a leg injury according to gameday. :banghead
  10. WTF did we need cash for? Isn't it enough already that he saved 20 million by trading away BOTH Cabrera and Willis in the same deal? I guess the Marlins weren't really interested in the most coveted candidates, and decided to get some cash instead of wasting a pick on someone likely available in later rounds.
  11. Censored (could go with uncensored if a deal breaker), Hanley 2 on back, black with outlined letters
  12. Put me down for two, definitely.
  13. WTFBBQ :banghead :banghead :banghead
  14. how bad was cabrera's error? was it a complete brain fart or was it a tough play? It was a bad throw wide, but cathcable, I think. I think Uggla was surprised by it and got by him. But De Aza's two failed bunt attempts into a surprise base hit on 0-2 to load the bases with no outs is a nice return.
  15. Ugh. At least they were able to preserve the lead.
  16. HANLEY!!! ONE MORE TO 30!
  17. I'll be in the hall of fame section w/ a generic Marlins jersey.
  18. Man, after attending the Nationals sweep earlier this week, it was good to witness a win against the Phillies last night. My 5 game jaunt ends today, so here's hoping it ends on a high note.
  19. I went to all three games in a Marlins jersey, and it wasn't too bad actually. I don't know if it was because I was respectful (e.g., only loudly cheered during major points like scoring plays and Greggo outs), but the only malicious taunting I got was when I was in the concession areas. There was a lot of Marlins booing while in the stands, but not to me specifically. Everything else was pretty good natured. I've got much worse in Philly.
  20. I hate to admit it, but I did get some extra enjoyment out of Willis' first at bat since the pitch before the homer yielded a foul ball that beaned a Phillies fan not paying attention. Much better section of fans this time around than yesterday -- some good-natured taunting.
  21. Ugh. I went to tonight's game, and it was an endurance test. Thankfully, the alcohol booth was near by. I do have to say that ever since they instituted Citizens Bank Park, there's been an influx of casual frat boy drunkard-type fans. (Grew up in Florida, moved here for a job a few years ago.) I don't mind being hazed, but when you start a chant spelling out Crabcakes (what, are we the Orioles now?) and when I mentioned 2-1 (WS-wise) as a response when it was 1-1, you assumed I meant the score? Pathetic. They also started multiple Eagles chants. Unsurprisingly, they left during the 4th or 5th innning. Even the older fans nearby were making fun of 'em. Oh, and best believe I'll be out tomorrow. Tie it up, Fins!
