Was that home half too long for your tastes, Sergio?

I've figured Russ Ortiz out. He loses his balls the moment someone gets on base. It's either out of the strike zone or right down the middle where hitters can't help but get their bat to the ball. Excellent start. I love first-inning runs, especially when they're from the good guys. 4-0 Fish.

Nevermind. Double play. Our turn. BTW: It turns out Orlando is part of the Marlins MLB.tv blackout. So I have to listen to radio and use my imagination.

Dan Patrick Leaving ESPN
I love Jim Rome. :thumbup Never gotten into Colin Cowherd or Dan Patrick, though Patrick isn't unpalatable. Can't stand Keith Olbermann though.

Umm, welcome to the boards? *chuckles* Don't worry. The homoerotic talk doesn't really faze me. What the hell is that thing in your avatar? It's a rottweiler. You got a problem with that? Tough. :thumbup

obviously we'd rather have miggy in the lineup. i dont see how it could ever be good. fredi said he was a late scratch. gotta love those informative comments. fredi being fredi. im just happy he didnt hit jason wood 3rd. miggy probably didnt finish lunch in time. What, are Fredi and Manny long-lost brothers?

Lineup for FLA: Ramirez SS De Aza CF Willingham LF Jacobs 1B Uggla 2B Olivo C Hermida RF Amezaga 3B Mitre P I'm new here, but considering there's no Cabrera... is this good, or bad? PS: No Bonds for SF.

Remember everyone: Now that's heavy-dute mojo. Miguel Cabrera is the chosen one, and the MVP of the National League.

Johan Santana so far, 17 Ks though 8, pitching 2 hitter
He's pretty far from 300 right now. He'll need to pitch for much better teams to sniff at that number. 91 wins in 8 years? He'll pretty much need 10 20 win seasons in a row or pitch into his mid 40's to hit that number. Not impossible - but not likely with the Twins. The past three years he's 20, 16 and 19. This year he's a dead lock to get at least 16 again, and likely to get more. And he probably will pitch into his 40s, as most great pitchers do as of late. (See: Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddux, Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Tom Glavine, and to a lesser extent David Wells, Tim Wakefield and Kenny Rogers.)

42,000
I think UM people also got tickets for $1 for saturdays game.. including a free hotdog, soda and chips. Personally, it made me sick watching them try to woo the Canes there. I'm in the stay in the OB if at all feasible group. I actually think that the Canes leaving the OB would hurt the Marlins too. If the Canes leave, the Miami politicos will try to force the Marlins into the OB land, which I don't think works. You get the same problem you have at DS which is mainly that it's not easy to get to 3-5 nights a week. Both sites work fine for football cause you only go there 6-8 times a year and most of those are on a weekend. For baseball however, I believe the downtown is the only option that would keep attendance high after the 1-3 year honeymoon period of the new park is over. And where downtown do you propose we build this? The site they already mention, which would displace the juvenile court, is way too small (Fenway Park wouldn't fit there), and I don't see anything much bigger. Unless you want to demolish Bicentennial Park (which I don't think the public will go for). OB, as part of a larger urban renewal project, would be a great spot.

Johan Santana so far, 17 Ks though 8, pitching 2 hitter
It's almost just not fair to the other team when Santana is pitching anymore. It's insane how good he is. Almost. He's the once-in-a-generation pitcher. He's the reason why we'll see 300-game winners in the future.

Drew Carey injured doing Price is Right
Actually, there will be some minor redesign of the set for the new season. The doors will have a new design on them, and there will be new colors for the turntable and curtains around the studio. Drew taped his first TPIR shows last week. From the reports I've been reading, he did a good job. No fundamental changes, though. Hell, they changed the door designs and curtain/turntable colors a few years ago. The confetti design from the 30th anniversary on the doors stuck around ever since. When will they air?

ESPN Classic
MLB took their stuff to the new Baseball Channel which will launch in 2009. That is going to be orgasmic. I will have DirecTV HD by then. Because I know Baseball Channel will have an HD version, just like NFL Network.

Defeated Sheriff confesses to murder of Newly Elected Sheriff
That was so jacked up. That's the last thing a community needs, especially one like DeKalb County, is for a former sheriff to kill a current sheriff.

Tony Snow to Leave WH Before End of Bush Pres.
I know most of you didn't listen to his radio show, but Tony Snow basically took the job as a bet. He spent alot of time ranting how the White House fumbled the press and how David Gregory was a loose cannon. I'm guessing Tony won the bet........David Gregory hasn't been on the White House beat for what seems like ages. David Gregory is such a pompous a**hole, I cant stand the guy. MSNBC has been rated the most "liberal" of the networks. FOX News is right leaning but the rest of the media is definately left leaning. There is no such thing as "fair" nowadays in media coverage. Everything has a slant and every news station has a purpose in the way they cover any story. Fox News should fess up to that. "Fox News Channel. When everyone else leans left." :thumbup
