  1. I miss them already :C
  2. See I bet now this means Lidge'll have a Mitch Williams moment this postseason, whehter it be in the NLDS or further down the road
  3. David Wright's voice makes me think of gay guys who try to sound like they're not gay but they really are and are just doing a really bad job at hiding it.
  4. On topic of this, where do the Fish stay in New York? I'd love to get some autos if it turns out their hotel is close enough to the one I'm staying at when I go up next week. I know the Phils stay at the Westin so maybe the Fish do too? I remember hearing some of the Marlins took the subway to Shea once so I'm guessing it's not at the ~*HOLIDAY INN THE OFFICIAL HOTEL OF MLB*~ which is right around the corner from Shea, haha.
  5. A baseball community I belong to has a ton of people saying to vote for Rafael Furcal for NL shortstop. Puh.
  6. I was at the Phils game tonight and turned in some slips, voting for Hanley, and told people there to vote for Hanley. Of course I got sh*t for it but I guess I'll just take pride in that at least I'm voting it based on knowing what I'm talking about instead of being a homer.
  7. Well he has 52 K's in 42 IP.... that is pretty darn good. We are a team that likes to K. That is not a good combo. But maybe he will have an off day. Yeah, plus he's only given up one HR all year! Dun dun dunnn. Keepin' the faiiith keepin the faiiiith. But hopefully he's one of those guys that once teams have seen him, they'll start to figure him out, you know? Reds and pitching? Pah, I scoff at the idea.
  8. Hanley should get the starting nod, and while we're at it Uggla's the best second basemen in the NL at the moment as well. He's brought his avg. up to .290 and he's at a sexy 12 HR and 28 RBI. I guess you've never heard of Chase Utley. Just as Dan's heated up, Chutley's been putting up some very un-Chutleylike numbers. He had 4 hits the entire 7 game roadtrip, causing his average to drop 30 points (haha, drop to .327, don't we all wish we had that problem?)! Unngggh Utz, get back on the Vengabus! I find it amusing in a coincidental sort of way, though. Uggla stole Chase's mojo! :mis2
  9. I'm a Phillies fan, and I'm not voting for JRoll for the ASG. If a guy misses that much time, he should not get the vote over a guy like Hanley whose been more than solid all season so far. Now if he starts putting up big numbers as we get closer to July, then I will assume he'll get in on his own merit, but Hanley needs the votes because there are tons of misinformed fans who will vote for JRoll, and Reyes, and whoever based on rep, and Hanley so far has proven he deserves to be starter. And I'd love to see Hanley get voted in and another Fish, like Dan or Scotty go in from the coaches' choice, not have Hanley get in because each team needs a representative. The only thing I worry with Hanley being endorsed so much is that he will get all the credit for the Fishes' success. Which is unfair, but thems the breaks. You are my favorite Phillies fan ever Haha, thank you. But seriously, JRoll is my favorite player and has been for a long time and as a fan of his, I would want to see him in there because he deserved to be in there, not because of a popularity vote. I mean, if he ain't an All-Star, he should be usin' that break to practice on bein' one, not tooling around the All-Star game like he belongs there, and that goes for every player in the MLB who gets there based on popularity *coughDavidWrightcough* And this is why I don't post on Phillies phorums. I'd be shot for saying something that goes against the Phillies but you all are cool with rival fans hanging as long as we're, you know, sane.

  11. Ugh and of course I have work tonight. :C BUT LET'S GO HOPPER & COMPANY! Any word on if for sure Jake'll be back? The J + Great American Ballpark = muahaha.
  12. He only misses it because he is doing badly, and the team is doing badly. I don't think the story would be the same if he was hitting is usual .330, on pace for 40 home runs, with the Tigers in 1st. When I read the article, I see how sad he is. But he seems sad about the fact that he is doing badly, got booed, and that the Marlins are in 1st without him. Well, sure, he'd be more generally upbeat if the Tiggers were doing better, but it's BS to say that the standings would affect how he feels about being away from Alfie and Hanley and all his buds. Which, I know that's not what you're saying. But I feel bad for him, being away from them, and I think he'd still be pretty emo either way. I'm sure if the Tigers were in first, he wouldn't be like, "Amezaga who? Hanley who?"
  13. I had MLB.tv in 06 and it was a real f&*#er. I'm from the Philly area so my Phillies games would get blacked out UNLESS I signed into MLB.tv before the games started. So, I couldn't switch between a Phillies game, then a Marlins game, then back to a Phillies game. I ended up missing Ani's no-hitter that way. Ugh. Sort of off-topic, but, you know what's really weird? I have Extra Innings, and any game that's the Nats v. whoever, the other team's feed gets blacked out for me! Even Philly vs. Nats, I have to watch it on dumb MASN. (I don't have Comcast to watch the Phils, that's why I have Extra Innings; local feeds don't get blacked out like they do on MLB.TV) But hey, heads-up: Apparently you can watch the most recent 5 games for free on MLB.tv. I went to the Yahoo! Box score of the game from last night, and clicked on the "MLB.TV" archive, figuring it was a two-minute recap, and it was the whole game! You can only watch each game once, though. But still, cool! Good luck with your MLB.tv, though.
  14. Last year I got one of my questions aired. Two-parter. First I asked about guys travelling with the team while on the DL, and secondly I asked Tommy where his Big Book of Marlins Superlatives went. Hah.
  15. Let's go Scotty O! Complete Game numero uno this time around?
