  1. We've got Perry Hill at 1st base, McKeon manager. Let's just go out and sign Luis Castillo, make Conine hitting coach, trade for Juan Pierre, trade for Dontrelle Willis, trade for Pudge, trade for Josh Beckett, trade for Miguel Cabrera, trade for AJ Burnett, bail Urbina out of jail, get some of the guys like Mordy/Hollandsworth/Harris out of retirement, and this team's in good shape. Urbina is in Jail? The Past is the Past My friend, it wouldnt be like it was in 2003, but its a nice thought....:hug Yea. And he wasn't messing around either. "Urbina attacked five farm workers on his property whom he had accused of stealing a gun. The pitcher tried to injure them both with a machete and also attempted to pour gasoline on them"
  2. Why do all the trees in Indiana lean to the south? Probably walking into one here, but why?
  3. Took 27 pitches but NO FREAKING RUNS!
  4. Sit the f*** down, you just got K via Vaz. This means you really suck. Haha. Told my co-worker the exact same thing. How bad does it suck to get K'd up by Javy?
  5. Not sounding good. Way to give up a hit ahead in the count 0-2. Vázquez is no longer a MLB-caliber player.
  6. Over/under on runs allowed by Vázquez in the 1st?
  7. So what, Hanley can't play day games? Going to hold him out of day games following night games for a couple of weeks.
  8. A Kentuckian. ... BRING US HAPPY! You know what the infamous t-shirt says: "Getting Lucky in Kentucky" I thought it was "We Got Chicken". Considering we are playing like chickens with our heads cut off that one is probably more apropos.

  10. Cliff Lee vs Javier Vázquez I've never started one before but I'll be listening from work. Let's see how this goes.
  11. I just started listening. Did this happen today? If so, what inning?
  12. That is one way to end a perfect game!
  13. I go to the away series in Cincinnati every year. As far as baseball games in general I make about 8-10 games in Cincinnati. I also go to an average of 1 game a week for the Louisville Bats (where I live).
  14. Dang. Just heard it on the broadcast. Been a rough spring all around for him.
  15. I'd go Coghlan, Infante, LoMo, Hanley, Stanton/Sanchez, Sanchez/Stanton, Buck, other In no way should LoMo bat 3rd...nor Hanley 4th.
  16. http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=5820406 Pavano and Vazquez are the top two on the wish list, with Vazquez the more likely of the two. Is this potential move to bolster the rotation even more? Or a preemptive signing in hopes to deal Nolasco for Upton?
  17. The two I missed were Dempster and Wilson...and like I said, they aren't "great"!
  18. Got 16/18 and I would strongly argue that two I missed are nowhere near "great". I don't want to include the names for spoilers.
  19. There is no way the Diamonbacks look at this without one of our top OF prospects. I think it's easy to see that LoMo is the one to go. LoMo plays first for Arizona. And should for the Marlins Valid point. Should have replaced OF with "hitting". Not very familiar with the Dbacks system...but with this trade and my rudimentary knowledge of their system I think they would also have OF holes. Either way...to get it done it's Stanton or LoMo...LoMo goes.

  21. I would trade Morrison and Nolasco for Upton in a second. And then use the money ear marked for Nolasco (about $6 million), use that with additional Dan Uggla money ($3 million) to sign a right handed starting pitcher. Can anyone say Pavano? Losing Morrison hurts, but we'd have the best corner outfielders in baseball. Literally. Gaby is going to be a solid pro, and we are developing Yelich now for 3-4 years down the road to replace Gaby basically. This ain't a big deal. Upton is amazing. We'd be so lucky. Add in Nunez too, and just take back some stuff in A ball. This is a no brainer if they can use the Nolasco/Uggla leftover money on a right handed starter, which they easily could do in my opinion. I could be wrong...but won't some of that $6 million ear marked for Nolasco or Uggla money have to go to make up the difference between Morrison and Upton? Forgive me, if I'm way off on this one. It was reported payroll will be $53-55. Currently, if we go in as is right now, payroll will be about $46.5, so we have around $6.5-8 to spend right now. Minus Nolasco, who is ear marked around $6 through arbitration, we have $12.5-14 to spend. Upton is $4.25 in 2011, so we're talking an $8-10 million pitcher to replace Nolasco. That is easily a quality 180-200 innings with this market. The side effect is - Sanabia/West is your 5th starter, you can't afford Ohman/another veteran lefty and have to go with Richardson/Jennings/Veteran Vagabond along with Dunn in your pen, and you have to have two club controlled options on the bench versus a lefty. So to get Upton, you sacrifice a little depth, but it literally is the last guy in your bullpen, two last guys on your bench, and 5th starter. Not exactly your key performers. Thank you very much for the in depth look. While I haven't posted very much in the past I've always read your payroll/roster posts for further insight. That clears up a lot for me.
  22. I should add that Upton is under club control through 2015 and signed to a very friendly contract. Plus he is EXACTLY the same age as Morrison...to the day.
  23. I would love to hear some reasons from the guys who wouldn't give up LoMo for Upton.

  25. I don't know. Getting Upton would be friggin huge, I would just hate losing Morrison. I still doubt this will even happen though. It's actually nice to be involved in talks like this for a change. Yeah, for all the hate towards the FO for the Uggla trade, it does seem like we are wheelin and dealin this off season. I'd hate to see Morrison go though, he seems like a good kid, nice guy to root for. I lagree that Morrison would be a guy I'd hate to part with, but for a talent of Upton's caliber it would be a no brainer.
