November 17, 201015 yr http://www.sporcle.com/games/rk559/adiosmiami I know a lot of these trades people are pissed about, but I got a chuckle out it actually being a quiz. And this was made like a month ago so Uggla isn't on there....
November 17, 201015 yr Got 16/18 and I would strongly argue that two I missed are nowhere near "great". I don't want to include the names for spoilers.
November 17, 201015 yr A remarkable amount of talent has passed through this organization in its relatively short existence
November 17, 201015 yr I got 13/18 2 of the ones I got wrong I genuinely didn't know, and 3 I knew but didn't consider 'great'
November 17, 201015 yr I got 13 of 18 as well... got Sheffield with 1 second remaining lol. Notes: Preston Wilson was never 'great'. Nor was Ryan Dempster. Nor was Renteria. However, I missed Nenn, Hoffman, Santana, Dempster, and Alou
November 17, 201015 yr I only got 10/18, however I showed much better form on the 2nd half, getting 7/9. I blame the lack of knowledge on the earlier ones on the fact I didn't follow baseball till 2006.
November 17, 201015 yr 18/18, the trade in 2002 had me stumped but then I saw it was a pitcher and not an outfielder and that it was to the Reds, I was thinking Cliff Floyd
November 17, 201015 yr 18/18, the trade in 2002 had me stumped but then I saw it was a pitcher and not an outfielder and that it was to the Reds, I was thinking Cliff Floyd Yeah that had me stumped as well, it's the only one from the second half that I didnt get. I blame my lack of knowledge on the earlier ones because I was a whopping 1 year old during 1993.
November 17, 201015 yr Author 18/18, the trade in 2002 had me stumped but then I saw it was a pitcher and not an outfielder and that it was to the Reds, I was thinking Cliff Floyd Yeah that had me stumped as well, it's the only one from the second half that I didnt get. November 17, 201015 yr Yeah but I dont process anything pre-1997 very well. I knew of it's existence, but it doesnt come to mind. I cant think of the 1993 Marlins like I could think of the 2001, 2002, 2003, etc. etc. Marlins. With the rest of them I was able to ask myself... who was on that team?
November 17, 201015 yr Why don't I remember Santana? Was he only here for a week like Piazza? I don't think I remember Gonzales either.
November 18, 201015 yr What does the asterisk next to two of the positions mean? Which happen to be the 2 players whom I don't remember being Marlins. Was anyone else having problems? I could swear I typed Renteria and Gonzalez but it wasn't taking. I even googled Renteria and copied and pasted the name intothe field and it still didn't work. It took Gonzalez the next time I did the test.
November 18, 201015 yr Why don't I remember Santana? Was he only here for a week like Piazza? I don't think I remember Gonzales either. He never played for the Marlins, he was a Rule 5 pick from Astros and in a pre-arranged deal with Twins, the Marlins had first or second pick in Rule 5 draft, recieved Jared Camp for him. Camp made it to the last days of ST in 2000 before the Fish decided to keep Brad Penny and Camp was returned to the Indians. As for Gonzalez he never made it to the Majors with Marlins after being the Number One overall selection in 2000 draft, he was part of the trade that brought Urbina to Marlins in 2003
November 18, 201015 yr What does the asterisk next to two of the positions mean? Which happen to be the 2 players whom I don't remember being Marlins. I think it's because Adrian Gonzalez never actually played for the Florida Marlins. He was a Marlins prospect. I don't know about Hoffman, but I'm guessing it's the same deal.

What are you 10 years old?:lol
November 18, 201015 yr just missed the minor leaguers.. didnt even cross my mind... guess i should read the directions. argh
November 18, 201015 yr I got them all and in order, but one guy stopped me in my tracks and froze me for a minute. Johan
November 18, 201015 yr The two I missed were Dempster and Wilson...and like I said, they aren't "great"!
