This team has got to be one of the worst with RISP but that was one hell of an unexpected finish. Dobbs is my FOTG for battling with Marmol until he got the double. 25th in the league at .233 BA not very good. That thread got me to thinking, is there a chance that Skipworth can ever become a decent catcher for us, or have the Marlins started to look elsewhere for that guy ? Adrian Gonzalez developed late - are there signs this could happen in Skipworth's future? Anything being seen or happening this year that is starting to make us believe in him? Anything he is showing to say he could be starting to really develop well? Was the Buck signing a sign that the Marlins have given up on Skipworth?

If we don't keep the hot-streak going, but Vasquez does keep his personal hot-streak going, then Vasquez, Infante, Dobbs and Nunez are our trade tools. Not much trade bait, those pieces. Its going to be very interesting once that last out is made in 28th of Sept.

Most ppl here are forgetting that next year we open a new stadium, so that will factor into the analysis. This isn't just any other season for the franchise, we have to finish as strong as possible to continue the momentum going into the new ballpark. I personally highly doubt that Loria trades Nolasco AND Sanchez, that would be retarded. I think Sanchez is a keeper, and if we can get some good talent from Nolasco then perfect, but being sellers and revamping our team going into a new stadium? DOUBT IT. It looks like if anything major happens it will be via free agency. I agree trading parts away now looks bad going into a new stadium. If the team flounders again in August, some changes will be made but I think Loria is kind of trapped and doesn't have many options. Sort of sucks for him if these guys (Morrison, Stanton, Coghlan, Sanchez, (Matt) Dominguez) don't pan out. He will either have to start spending a ton by 2013 & 2014 or do another selloff, which may just be the death blow to his ownership. A lot of folks don't already trust him, if he does that AFTER the new stadium, forget it. Not a fun place to be for him - its got to be uncomfortable from that standpoint right now. That June swoon just has wrecked a lot of the future plans.

I'm sure it's just to get a start in while the team is on break. He'll be back. I think thats what Minervini said last night, post game. It makes the most sense, since they don't need a 5th starter for over a week.

What is the future of CC? It seems as if the organization is dismissing CC from the team for the forseeable future. Did CC refuse to go down (and could he do that?) and did that piss off the front office, and they decided to put him on ice with an "injury"? Is CC to be trade bait by the end of the month? Could they be that angry with him? Its just all curious. The timing and then the moves all at CF. Just speculating :thumbup
