7/7 Post Game

It's worth noting that the Astros are really bad.

Then let's be glad he didn't pitch like sh*t against a bad team.

Absolutely.

Side-note, Cishek has put together a very impressive 26-inning resume in the big leagues thus far in his young career.

according to their record the Marlins are a pretty bad team too... gotta beat the teams you're "supposed to beat" first.

Great to see that from Hand tonight.

Now go out and sweep this team.

That was my point about it, though.

I'm glad that the team won in general, but I'm still not sold on Hand yet. Despite the nice results, he had 3 BB/4 K and 12 of the 17 outs that were in play were flyball outs. Thus, my point is that I think some of the success he had had to do with the Astros being terribly bad.

Hand pitched a good game, glad he was able to get his first win. Dropped his ERA to a very nice 2.77, hopefully he keeps this up and becomes Volstad's replacement.

I honestly think the Astros are the worst team in the league so not winning at least 3 of these games would be a disappointment.

Tonight was a step in the right direction but until Hand proves he can be consistent he's just another Scott Olsen/Andrew Miller.

Offense seems to have turned things around and Bonifacio is starting to become my favorite player.

He still has a long way to go but it was nice to see him come out and face a struggling Houston team and be able to hold them to 2 hits.

And Boni is definitely playing like he wants to start everyday, it was frustrating to see him early on not using his speed as much.

Someone mentioned this before I actually even thought of it, but I thought I would bring it up here as well. I loved Edwin as a manager but it was still the same old as far as what we were doing on the base paths, seems since Jack got here we have increased our Stolen Base efficiency and attempts by 200% (random figure not actual stat) if you catch my drift.

I know we were near dead last at stealing attempts and perecentage, and I felt like Hanley never stole a base on his own neither Bonifacio, you think Jack looked at him with that "old man death stare" of his and said "uh, you guys have god damn speed, why aren't your stealing bases?"

I know you're expected to know these things as a ball player but there was some disconnect in that area and that goes all the way back to when Jack was still our manager and had Pierre and Castillo flying around the bases.

I've always been a fan of the Bonifacio types and the above mentioned names and the fact that Boner is actually hitting whether it be a bunt/infield single or anything else, it's really something nice to see.
