Fire Eduardo Perez
yes, hanley was traded but you could certainly make a case for him "leaving" as well as he helped force the hand by being awful the last two seasons. if he was even close to his old form i doubt he would have gone anywhere.. He would have stayed but he had been showing no signs of improvement whether thats the hitting coach or he has a personal vendetta agains Miami one will never know. (I kid) It's obnoxious that he is now performing quite well with the Dodgers though and it kinda makes me think they told him to switch up his swing. It would be awfully coincidental that he suddenly remembered how to hit right after he left Miami. I don't hate the guy but this whole situation is very annoying.

Obamacare's Indvidual Mandate UPHELD as constitutional
It's should have been 5-4 the other way it's a freedom or a choice if you will. Even though most people will need health care, it shouldn't be required that you have insurance. It's just another way for the government to make money unless you do what they say.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
There is nothing in the Bible that talks about interracial marriage being wrong, if you think that you're taking the Bible out of context. It does say that a virgin who is raped outside of a city has to marry the man who did it, provided that he pays a fee to her father. Would you like to see that codified into law? Oh, it also says that if a woman says she is a virgin upon marriage and her husband says she isn't, her mother and father have to produce proof that she was a virgin, or the men of town have to stone her for bringing shame upon her father's house. Should the government get involved in the woman's murder, or can we handle this as a mob? "You must purge the evil from among you." It was custom back then to make a man who raped a young girl get married to her. More emphasis was put on the punishment of the man not being able to chose who he wanted to be with because he did not have self control. He was also not allowed to get divorced. Understand that losing your virginity before marriage was not only looked down upon but also not really an option and lying was punished accordingly with stricter laws (obviously) than we have today. It was also largely a culture thing in that time. Romans 8 talks about the Law of Moses (deuteronomy, and all of the above) not being able to save us as humans because of our sinful nature thus God sent Christ to die for our sins, and would later say "sin no more" (New testament) It is very easy for the Bible to be questioned if it's taken out of context because of how society has changed from the old testament to today. This is also why if you're really interested in knowing the truth that you read the whole Bible and not pick bits and pieces, it's meant to be read as a book and not verse by verse.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
I'm not asking you agree with what I believe, just that you respect what I believe. I get it some are bitter and won't post anything worth responding to. It doesn't harm me any, it just shows your inability to debate with someone who has different beliefs than you, which is sad really considering that people often have different beliefs. I'm sure bashing what they believe is the best way of getting your point across. There is nothing in the Bible that talks about interracial marriage being wrong, if you think that you're taking the Bible out of context. Oh btw, I have friends outside the church and don't think Harry Potter is bad but please continue your ignorance. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

It's weird how we still stick to a hitting coach who hasn't helped any hitter get better. Insane to expect different results with the same instructor. By the way, we have- at least 3 come to my mind right off the bat- some good hitting former Marlins that were very good hitters in their careers and live in South Florida: Mike Lowell, Pudge, Conine. Thoughts? Conine is a star! For some reason I don't think he would pan out as a hitting coach though.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
Cross dressing is a choice, yes, thats what I said. Well I mean the writers of the Bible didn't put things in there like a man and man should procreate or the sky is green and red at 5pm est. So yes it's most likely based upon their own experience and logic, God breathed of course. Your logic is flawed. I said green AND red not green or red. Maybe you could put your photoshop skills to use.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
We've beaten the crap out of it over the last 50 years, and we're paying the price. Judging by this thread, we'll continue to denigrate it, further demean it and finally demolish it. 50 years ago, it was perfectly legal in the United States to deny a black man the right to marry a white woman. If ending stuff like that means we've "beaten the crap out of" traditional marriage, then I say keep f***ing swinging. The bold is traditional marriage. Wrong. It's biblical marriage. Traditional marriage was between a male and a female of the same race. Get your facts straight. It's the same thing.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
Because it's a choice If it were a choice, nobody would choose it. Sorry, but if you were to use logic there that'd be clear. Nobody wants to be oppressed like that. Everything in the Bible was put there by a God breathed man who saw a perfect man that walked the Earth meaning that most likely there were logical reasons to their writing as well. Most likely? Sounds like you're uncertain. Cross dressing is a choice, yes, thats what I said. The Chick-fil-a dilemma
It should also be known our founding fathers wrote the constitution based largely on Christian beliefs. Interestingly enough John Adams The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were. . . . the general principles of Christianity. . . . I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God; and that those principles of liberty are as unalterable as human nature. Twenty times in the course of my late reading have I been on the point of breaking out, "This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion at all!!!" But in this exclamation I would have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean hell.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
Why aren't you pushing to have a constitutional amendment against cross dressing? You don't get to deny a group of people their rights as citizens (Which is what banning gay marriage does) because of your conviction if you aren't going to be consistent in it. Because it's a choice and because being a Christian doesn't mean I push to have things to be changed, the Bible asks that you follow what it says but obviously those who don't believe it don't follow that idea. Everything in the Bible was put there by a God breathed man who saw a perfect man that walked the Earth meaning that most likely there were logical reasons to their writing as well.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
FYI my earlier comments in this thread were directed not mainly toward Cathy's comments, but the gay marriage debate in general. And no, I don't believe the gluttony comments are a ridiculous. The Bible says that EVERYONE is a sinner, and EVERYONE falls short of the perfection of Christ. It's okay to believe that AN ACT is wrong. But unless you can prove that is detrimental to society without saying "Because that's what I believe", then your belief really has no right to interfere with the independent actions of other human beings. It's all very silly. Its like saying "I believe listening to Justin Bieber is wrong, therefore listening to his music is illegal". (Hell, his music is probably worse for society than gay marriage). Just remember, the Bible says you are only saved by the grace of God. Too many of arrogant people out there look down upon gays as if they are above them. You're not. Gay marriage is detrimental to society, it's just whether you want to accept that or not. I've already explained why its wrong both biblically and logically, I don't need to explain it any further. It affects others involved negatively, it's simple really. Yes you're saved by grace or unmerited favor, a lot of people are a lot of things. Don't lump me with those who you have seen claim Christianity.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
It's all sugar-coating, again. You can believe what you'd like, and that's cool. When it comes to morals and whatnot, what you believe is not necessarily right or wrong sometimes. If you don't believe two gay people should be married, that's a belief. That's fine. It's insensitive and unfair, but it's a belief - nothing more, nothing less. However... if you believe the Earth is only 5,000 years old... if you believe homosexuality is some type of learned behavior or 'reversible' or can be 'treated' as though it's some illness... well... you're just wrong. There's proof for that. If you can't see that and accept that, then it's not worth having this conversation. side note: nice to see the jerks who ruined the voting system get shown up, ... and Ema2R. Bigots. Cowards. At the very least there are some individuals here willing to stand up and debate. But how is it sugar-coating, I've provided you actual facts all you have done and all anyone has done is say, CFA supported this, and Don Cathy did that, without giving facts to back up what they believe happened. They let the media decide what happened. Right, anyone is allowed to believe anything they want without having to be told or proven wrong by anyone else. A gay man can get married but that goes against what I believe, it's not insensitive it's my conviction. The Bible is what I base my convictions off of along with faith and my own understanding based on logic. The Bible talks about a man not being with another man Leviticus 18:22, to even delve further into this (and I don't know how much you know or care to know) but that also goes against Genesis 1:28 which basically says to be fruitful and multiply, you cannot create life with a man having sex with another man. Not to mention the effect a man and a man getting married has on a possible adopted child, it effects more than just those involved with it. That is insensitive. The eventual outcome of this is humanity cutting off all life and it resulting in the end of civilization. Regardless if you were "born" with those desires or you "created" them it doesn't matter based on what I have provided above from my beliefs and own understanding. Yes I believe in young earth creationism, yes I believe that the Earth was created in six literal days. The reason I believe this is because that is what is understood from the word of God. There was evening and morning-the first day, therefore the Earth cannot be considered over millions of years old. Add to that scientific data if the Earth is slowing down one second per year, than the idea of the Earth being billions of years old is impossible considering the Earth would have been spinning so fast that there would be a distortion in the shape of the Earth. Or the fact that the sun is shrinking at a rate of about five feet per hour, then assuming that rate has been constant, the Sun would have been too hot for life to be sustained just 1 million years ago, let alone many millions of years ago. I disagree that you can't reverse homosexuality, if you were gay and came to know the Lord and realized it was wrong and not healthy and not fair to those you may adopt as your child if it goes that far, you could have enough sense to change how you act, it's not an impossible fix. I know Christians who struggle with homosexuality and have overcome it so to say that isn't true. You're just assuming it's something you're born with, which may be possible but, it is also possible that someone could have been raised poorly or maybe they were in fact just attracted to the same sex. Even with that you still have the option of seeking help or fixing it on your own. It's a sin like anything else and it has an effect on people like anything else. Having feelings for a member of the same sex is not wrong but acting on it or choosing to live that way or get married is against what the Bible states as post salvation to sanctification solution. That may not be what you believe but because I am Christian and that is what the Bible says I will choose to believe that, not to mention other reasons for which I have stated above. Christians don't tell gays not to be gays (I don't) I simply have a different set of convictions and what I believe does not constitute being gay. It's understood from a Christian standpoint as a sin to choose to live in homosexuality. Christians and even non christians have counseling and therapy clinics to help those with problems, it's a choice whether or not one uses them. Religion is a choice no one is forcing you to believe something, thats why there is no "treatment" centers for religion. Who's getting shown up? I know I'm not. What did ... and Ema2R do, is it wrong that they agree with my posts?

LeBlanc should have been pitching at the beginning of the year, fwiw. Not that I diasgree but who would be have replaced. Zambrano was doing great at the beginning of the year. Ricky wasn't going anywhere. Bullpen? Well he had the best starting pitching numbers in the league during spring training. I understand that spring training is still just spring training but it also shouldn't just be ignored. Not everyone who does well in spring training is by accident, I hate that idea. With the numbers he posted in spring training have him as a number 5 starter and put Zambrano in the bullpen, if he doesn't pan out in his first few starts simply send him down and put Zambrano in the number 5 spot. I understand it would have been hard to make this move but thats how I would have done it. But yes Zambrano did start well.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
Belief isn't the main problem. Its activity trying to limit the rights of others because of that belief. Well I agree with that, but in this case thats not what happened. To further explain the situation CFA donated money to the Marriage and Family Legacy Fund and Exodus International. One is a fund, one is a ministry, neither are anti-gay organizations. They simply act on their beliefs and provide relief for those who acknowledge their gay desires as a sin in accordance with the Bible. It's optional and no one is required to seek help. There is no anti-gay group support in this, just ministries.

Marlins stance on off season
Relying on and spending a ton of money in free agency has rarely, if ever worked. See the Texas Rangers of the early 2000's and the Yankees of the mid 2000's. They spent a ton of money on veteran players but were unable to win a World Series. There should always be a mix of building the farm system and adding players where needed. That comes from solid drafting and a little luck that players pan out. Retooling, rebuilding, same thing. It's going to be tough to win unless you have a solid core of starting pitching.

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
Living in the United States gives us freedom of speech and opinion, there is nothing wrong with what he said and to add to that it's biblical. Thats all that really needs to be said. Plus he probably unknowingly gave his company one of the largest profit days ever by saying what he said. What are you trying to say? That anything "biblical" is beyond reproach? Personally I'm tired of religion and really look forward to the day when humanity can come out of its infancy and drop it all together like a bad habit. There is no need for reproach, and yes I'm a christian. If he wasn't a christian and said what he said I would still be backing it up, you act like there is something wrong with what he said because it pertains to biblical faith. The man agrees with the biblical form of marriage a man and a woman. Religion will never go away, nor will people defending what they believe, it's our right in fact. Like I said, beyond reproach. And I do believe religion will vanish entirely, when that will happen? who knows... sooner than later I hope. It's called freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Anyone can believe anything they want. For example I wouldn't care if you believed that traditional marriage meant a man and a man, but that won't change what I believe. Obviously Christians are really not beyond reproach (see Dan Cathy and the aforementioned Rick Warren).

The Chick-fil-a dilemma
This whole thing started when the OP did not actually know what happened and claimed CFA was taking shots at gays which they weren't. Terrible journalism. Nothing was said here against gays nor was it implied, stop being ignorant and do research if you're going to post something. lol, wow. what? apparently everyone else got the point of the original post except for you. i'll be sure to word it more carefully next time so as not to upset you. You posted something that didn't happen though, which is also why you put "basically" in parentheses and yes I'm offended when the truth of what happens gets twisted and is posted for truth and leads others to believe that Don Cathy made anti-gay comments. Just like I would be disappointed if Squall wrongly said that Albert Pujols was coming to Miami.
