Mr. Man
Why the f*** is Gorkys Hernandez on a major league roster, let alone hitting lead-off? Because the Marlins don't have anything else, they're a minor league team.

There are certainly better options than a guy who virtually cannot hit at all.

He has to be one of the league leaders in funny names. I smell a contract extension in this young lad's future.

NOTtheILMarlins
LeBlanc should have been pitching at the beginning of the year, fwiw.
AeroFishOne
LeBlanc should have been pitching at the beginning of the year, fwiw. Not that I diasgree but who would be have replaced. Zambrano was doing great at the beginning of the year. Ricky wasn't going anywhere. Bullpen?
NOTtheILMarlins
LeBlanc should have been pitching at the beginning of the year, fwiw. Not that I diasgree but who would be have replaced. Zambrano was doing great at the beginning of the year. Ricky wasn't going anywhere. Bullpen? Well he had the best starting pitching numbers in the league during spring training. I understand that spring training is still just spring training but it also shouldn't just be ignored. Not everyone who does well in spring training is by accident, I hate that idea. With the numbers he posted in spring training have him as a number 5 starter and put Zambrano in the bullpen, if he doesn't pan out in his first few starts simply send him down and put Zambrano in the number 5 spot. I understand it would have been hard to make this move but thats how I would have done it. But yes Zambrano did start well.
Zero
I'd have to agree about Gorkys. Not only can he not hit but his fielding still needs work.
pollythewog
Gorkys is the least MLB ready player in MLB. he's not even good in the minors

I understand it would have been hard to make this move but thats how I would have done it. But yes Zambrano did start well. Kinda hard to argue with any of this reasoning. But Big Z was brought in to start and was basically hand picked by Ozzie and was doing very well. There really wasn't room on the roster for the youngster as the FO and coaches always saw him as a starter, not a pen guy, and sent him down to keep in a normal rotation mode. I think it was more surprising to see him brought up to fill a pen spot, except maybe they didn't see any other capable option. Basically the same things could be be said about Solano. Tore it up in ST with the bat and glove, but there wasn't room on the roster at that time.
...
It's much simpler than all that. LeBlanc had an option. Gaudin didn't. Same thing on Solano. If you have an option available, they'll use it if someone else who has no option might be someone they want to keep around.
Sherman shill
Reggie Abercrombie > Gorkys Hernandez holy hell this is perhaps the saddest, yet most accurate, fact of the day. also true is that i'd rather have Cogs out there than this clown as well...hell, i'd rather have kept Gaby than this guy as well
Fishes on the Pond
The game was close (1-0) until Bell came in. That signing with a HUGE mistake, BIG. :swoon Releasing him is about all we can do because no one wants him.
30plus
Why the f*** is Gorkys Hernandez on a major league roster, let alone hitting lead-off? Because of the secret hidden brilliance of Ozzie's lineup configurations? Stanton needs to bat 6th. The Marlins seem to love to get the guys they trade for to the ML roster as fast as possible, especially the crappy ones.

As Samson says, if the FO doesn't approve of the way Ozzie is using certain players (line-up, etc.), they take that player off of the 25 man roster. Beinhill is probably more in love with Gorkys' Bonifacio-ness than Ozzie is.
Michael
To be fair to Bell, there were 2 plays I believe Nick Green could have made in that inning that would have closed down the inning 1-2-3. But, eh.
