August 14, 201213 yr So back to back shutouts for the offense. One starting pitcher goes 8 innings the other goes 9. This sh*t just gets better and better.
August 14, 201213 yr lol we got shut out by Capuano and Hamels. You guys acting like we got shut out by Scrubs.

August 14, 201213 yr Marlns are second to last in the majors in runs scored. Don't act like you've never seen this before.
August 14, 201213 yr Capuano and Hamels are on my fantasy team. Good thing I don't care about this season anymore.
August 14, 201213 yr Anyone else convinced a pitching machine could shut out the Marlins?!??! no hitter
August 14, 201213 yr Anyone else convinced a pitching machine could shut out the Marlins?!??! no hitter Unless someone's making errors behind it, perfect game.
August 14, 201213 yr It's weird how we still stick to a hitting coach who hasn't helped any hitter get better. Insane to expect different results with the same instructor. By the way, we have- at least 3 come to my mind right off the bat- some good hitting former Marlins that were very good hitters in their careers and live in South Florida: Mike Lowell, Pudge, Conine. Thoughts?

Why just about every time their is talk about bringing a coach or manager it always come down to someone who play for the marlins or live in sfla, i don't care where they play or live, so long as they get the job done.
August 15, 201213 yr I think it's about time to fire Eduardo Perez. I'm not blaming him specifically for the team having the second most runs in the National League, but if your offense can't produce at least a middle of the road offense when you start the season with a lineup consisting of Hanley Ramirez, Giancarlo Stanton, and Jose Reyes, with decent hitters like Emilio Bonifacio, Omar Infante, and Logan Morrison sprinkled in, the hitting coach will eventually have to take the fall. The lineup their putting out now is pretty sad though. We should expect 0's when Peterson, Cousins, and Gorkys Hernandez (among many other poor hitters) getting close to daily at bats. In regards to talent under performing, this might be the most disappointing Marlins team in history (Yes, even worse than that 2005 squad).

Thoughts? Conine is a star! For some reason I don't think he would pan out as a hitting coach though.
August 15, 201213 yr Josh Johnson is the silver lining, nice performance. 27 innings of no runs, whats the record?

One glaring omission (if the person has had to play and live here) in that list of names would be Hawk. But I agree with Boca, with one exception. I would prefer someone that has some actual experience and success coaching at this level.

Lowell might be as well. But you see Conine and Dawson talking to the players before the games all the time.
August 15, 201213 yr Hire me, I know the simple fix. You just need to explain to the players that when swinging, the objective is to make contact with the ball.
August 15, 201213 yr Ive often wondered the "why does it suck" to play here question. I think having someone who LIVES here has the added plus of being able to help players new in SoFla relate more effectively to their new surroundings. Miami can be a challenging place to just up and move into. Of course, doing the actual JOB well is the highest priority.
