This team will probably have 60 homeruns at the end of the year. More than half of which will be from Stanton alone. I would also be interested in your strategy on how to get rid of those players you mentioned. I think at the end of the season, that could be a better time than ever to dump these players. Look at Hanley for example. He's doing pretty well in LA. Maybe these guys just need a change of scenery. Hanley is doing well in LA? Dude is hitting like 2 bucks and a quarter. We were very fortunate to get rid of that waste of talent.

Probably just a solid baseball player, no star. But Mujica was average to below average reliever, and he would most likely make a nice amount next season. Good trade IMO.

IMO Marlins played this one very well. Ask for a lot, if you get it, you win, otherwise keep your pitcher that you don't necessarily need/want to trade. Now JJ can hopefully at least finish the year healthy, and work on his stuff and come back next season like the old JJ stuff-wise.

Eovaldi looks composed for a rook. He ain't scared. Going after hitters like it's nobody's business. Lively fastball, nice deceptive breaking pitch, cutter has potential but needs work. Nice debut.

No to Crawford. Even worst contract for what? hopefully, maybe, a slightly better player right now? No thank you. Hanley for prospects was the only choice. Also, many of us disappointed with the Hanley trade should firstly; only be disappointed with what we got for him, not for the trade itself, Hanley needed to go; and secondly, if disappointed by what we got, we should understand that Hanleys contract was difficult to move, and perhaps this was the best deal available to us without actually paying for the majority of his salary.

Well Good F!@ing Morning to ME! What the Hell?!? Is this really all Hanley fetched in a trade?!?! Has he really fallen so far from grace?!? Disappointed, but i'll reserve further judgement and see what they do with the money saved. Can't say i'm expecting anything exciting, this is the marlins we're talking about, but i'll reserve my judgement nonetheless.

If we're gonna trade Hanley even though we should focus on pitching I would hope we could at least get a hitter to be included in a deal even if he's not the centerpiece....maybe a guy like Grant Green? Hanley gets you pitching, and JJ if traded gets you hitting.

Cespedes??? If we trade with the A's it will be for pitching. A's have a lot of Pitching, but are the worst at hitting, hence why they are trying to improve. So look for pitching prospects from that trade.

I can't find myself getting that excited over any of the A's prospects. Peacock's having a god awful season, Michael Choice strikes out a ton, and AJ Cole is in single A. That Parker RHP is not half bad. He could be a good starting prospect.

He's not going anywhere. Which is sad IMO. I am of the opinion that Hanley will never be the Hanley of the monster year. The present Hanley is the one we will see from now on. Maybe gets on a hot streak here and there, but at best he will be a .280 hitter. But nothing you can do.

I see the marlins picking a large part of Hanleys contract only, and only if they get top prospects in the deal. Anything short of that, and it does not really help the team.

Moving the fat bastard will be very hard. You're going to have to include additional players in addition to maybe taking at least half his salary, to even get at least someone interested. What a bust. Could have given that money to Yoenis Cespedes.

So you don't think during the offseason, as a major league hitter, Hanley cannot correct his swing/approach? Not saying he cannot. As I said, Hanley has been a top league hitter, which leaves the possibility open that he can do so again. I'm saying that i'm seeing a player who either does not have the capability of adjusting or just does not want to. And i attribute that to being lazy and/or not smart enough. He needs to change his attitude, because the talent is still there, i just don't believe the desire or determination is.

How do you know he's a lazy and dumb hitter? Didn't Mckeon say he was a very hard worker last season? That's a cop out answer. Have you seen him hit this season? He has used the same long "I want to tear the cover off the ball" power swing throughout the entire season, receiving no positive result, and he has either made no attempt to adjust it, or is incapable of doing so. Either way, it's bad.

What is your justification for assuming it'll stay this low? I never said it would go back to .333 but I don't expect it to stay this low. Why do you? You're grasping at straws with the infield hit rate. It will most likely not be as high as it was but that accounts for how many extra hits a season? Not that much I'm sure. His BB/K is .08 lower than jus career rate. Nothing huge. He's hitting more line drives and less ground balls this season. He's striking out more but his walk percentage is basically the same. He's swinging at more pitches out of the zone but he's also making more contact than he usually does. I don't know if he will increase his BABIP. No one ever knows. But it is not completely unrealistic to think it will get higher considering how low it Is. Hanley so far has given you very little indication that he will return to what he used to be. Obviously the fact that he once did something, gives you reason to think he can do it again, but he has shown you nothing to suggest it. Keep in mind, this year was important to him. He had this whole campaign about returning to what he was. Proving his critics wrong. So by all accounts, he was extra motivated this year. But not even that could set him straight. Bottom line is, Hanley is just to lazy and he lacks the attitude to just work hard and adjust, and learn, and study to change something for the better. He is talented, but a dumb hitter. He will get hot streaks, but he will not be the hitter he once showed he could become for his career.

Took squall's suggestion, made an account. This trade needed to be done. Team is going nowhere this season, so might as well get something from Anibal before he becomes a freeagent. Sorry to see Infante go, i liked the way he played, specially defensively. However, by himself, he is no game changers. Now, it only remains to be seen if the prospects pan out, something the Marlins have a pretty crappy record on. As far as Hanley, trade his lazy azz. Don't give me the "bad decision, his value is low now." Hanley was supposedly "motivated" this season to prove his critics wrong, and not even that was enough to make him work a little bit harder to get better. He won't return to that player he once was, he is too lazy, and every year that passes by without Marlins trading him is just another year removed from when he was valuable. Cut your loses while you still can.
