QuickGold
Resigned Uggy and traded Benitez for some M&M's or best offer
Das Texan
why would you trade benetiz. just dont sign him. seriously the only place the front office dropped the ball this winter was in failing to address the bullpen adequately.
Mephisto
Thats true, they could have picked a lefty specialist and and right hander to pitch the sevent. They should have gotten more in return for Encarnacion and Redman. They also should have gotten Cruz in the lee deal.
KJC
it takes 2 to tango. our FO does not want to over pay therefore many FAs passed on by. I am not upset over any move because the team should not spoil the future even as champions for one rent-A-player.
JBurque
I STILL can't believe we didn't get Arod. I mean, how hard could it be?
catchoftheday
would have traded Derek Lee and Wilson Valdez + possibly a PTBNL for Hee Seop Choi and Kile Fransworth. with the rest im cool
QuickGold
I'd have kept Lee....He had a career year last season.
Shamrock
*I would have traded Lee for Choi like we did. *Id have traded Lowell to the Dodgers/Yankees/whoever for 2 premium prospects and a ML ready bullpen arm (cruz/reitsma/etc) *Move Cabrera to 3B where his value is maxmized (as it stands he needs improvement to become an average RF) *Sign one of the many cheap, good RF available and Urbina/other 2nd tier RP with the moneyy saved with Lowell *Sign Benitez...underrvalued *Release Pudge like we did *Dont sign Cordero, but bring in Abe Nunez and Reggie Sanders to duke it out...move Conine to Cordero's current LF/1B role. Maybe other moves as I think of them

CapeFish
I have no reason to doubt Admin Beinfest. This team is still one of the best. I think we have gotten to a point where we are one or two pieces from perfection, but I believe those pieces are in our system somewhere. I think Justin Wayne, Darren Oliver, and Armando Benitez will put this team over the top like Redman, Willis, and Urbina did last season. I don't mind the idea of putting AJ in the pen to help him regain his form. I think the rotation should stay as it is if it works until playoff time where it can be reevaluated. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Dude, sometimes I wonder about you. a gm sees perfection as a team with good talent and depth. we have good talent and depth at all positions except the bullpen. one or two more key players there will reach the level of perfection for a gm giving his team a chance to win. AJB34
I STILL can't believe we didn't get Arod. I mean, how hard could it be? you know, this got me thinking. if the marlins would have had the future secured back in january (stadium deal finalized) i think AROD would have loved to come here. think about it. he would be coming to a championship team and also be coming back home scince he was raised in miami. ahh but if only *sighs*
Marlins2003
Following on AJB34's "if we already had a stadium" theme, I'd trade Lowell for two good quality arms and a high level prospect, move Cabs to third, let Nunez and Cordero fight it out in right, and if I needed to later in the season I'd trade Gonzalez for even more pitching, replacing him with Wilson Valdez. A team with Pierre and Valdez and to a lesser degree Castillo would run opposing teams into the ground. We don't have a stadium and trading Lowell would be PR suicide so its nothing more than idle speculation. (getting my body armor and flack jcket ready)
OmarUM483
I would have let Castillo go and kept Lee...I also would have pushed the envelope when Vlad was still available...
JBurque
I would've liked to see somehow, someway, moving Cabrera back to third. If that meant shipping Lowell then so be it. Lowell became "untradeable" for the FO after he became the modern day face of the club after he resigned. Its a shame though because we could've gotten everything we need in a Lowell move. fishfan25
I would have tried harder to sign pudge. Resign urbina Kept looper, forget benitez. get better players from the redman and encarnacion deals. also we should have gotten choi and a reliver ( farnsworth maybe ) for lee. WE NEED A TRADE RIGHT NOW....WE NEED A RELIVER! I'm serious...like banks, easley, nunez, other minor league pitcher. Something like that. Ramp
actually the Marlins looked into getting ARod this winter and to whoever said get more for Encarnacion.... this is coming from his biggest fan.... the guys stats flat out sucked(besides rbi), he was one of the worst RF in baseball last year statistically.... no one would give us a donute for him

gobucks
as far as Arod goes, I can tell you from inside sources that he only wanted to play for an AL team. This is why you never really heard too much from the Mets.
