April 17, 200422 yr Remember games where Pierre and Castillo didnt get on base - we had real bad offensive performances. Castillo has played well but Pierre needs to get on so that Migs can drive him and Luis home. Those 2 are the catalysts to our offense and it shows you how good are pitching is when we still win w/o Pierre being on top of his game.

JP isn't doing that and hasn't. He's 1 for his last 14.
April 17, 200422 yr You may see Castillo on the 1 hole, only temporarly until JP gets back to normal.
April 17, 200422 yr You may see Castillo on the 1 hole, only temporarly until JP gets back to normal. I was just going to say that....move Castillo back to leadoff.
April 17, 200422 yr Meh....early in the year, Marlins are still winning. Juan will be fine, this is not a big deal.
April 17, 200422 yr Juan was having a tremendous spring until he dislocated his pinky. He hasn't been the same since he returned. It appears he got knocked off his rhythym. Although it has been awhile, I wonder if the pinky is still bothering him. He is yet to lay down one of his patented bunts. Let's hope he gets it going tonight. We need him!!
April 17, 200422 yr won't be surprised if luis is leading off tonight. he needs to if JP does not get his game together. but he will eventully.
April 17, 200422 yr won't be surprised if luis is leading off tonight. he needs to if JP does not get his game together. but he will eventully. I don't see that happening. Luis has been hitting the ball very well, which is fortunate since he is picking up the slack. JP has been hitting alot of grounders to the IF....i.e. double-play balls....so it has been fortunate that Luis is hitting behind him. Let's hope JP can get it going while Luis is hitting so well.......we are going to need some extra run support as we continue to play the Braves and Phillies.
April 17, 200422 yr Juanpy is hitting alot of ground balls (when he swings early in the count he is hitting them in the air, you prefer the patience because at least he makes the out on the ground) but he is still getting down the line well. He started out the season well, but tailed off a little bit starting last weekend. He'll get back to normal. I don't believe a switch is necessary, but if it comes to that it isn't the problem it is perceived to be because Juanpy will get Luiy out at second (if Luiy isn't running) but he will beat out the relay to first, so we'd be basically trading in an out to exchange runners on the base paths. Don't worry, he will get back to normal Juanpy form.
April 17, 200422 yr I notice that. Juan Pierre isn't doing as good as he usually doea. I really don't know what's bothering him becuz he usually soo good. But hopefully he'll get back to being him soon.
April 17, 200422 yr You guys sure do worry alot, I think JP will be back to his normal self in no trouble and but I do agree with all of you that he isnt working the count enough. Maybe Bill Robinson will work with him a little more and get him back to his old self.
April 17, 200422 yr Marlins are 8-2 and JuanP hasn't even gotten anything going yet...Good god, just wait til he does... :mischief Maybe they should change Juan's at-bat song to G'N'R's "Patience" to make sure his train of thought is on the right track... "With a little patience...yeah, yeahhh..."
April 17, 200422 yr Not only does he need to get on base, but he needs to start stealing.. Scott Podsenick has 12 SB already.
April 17, 200422 yr Maybe that pinky is a big factor of why he ain't running(after something like that happen's you don't want it to happen again) but he will get over it eventually and be back to speedy pierre
