May 5, 200422 yr I'm disgusted with the way McKeon has handled Choi's playing time. This is killing me. He was the hottest batter last week and Jack sit his ass. This is a young player that must develop and adjust, and you just don't sit your hottest player. The big man had the momentum going, and on a young player dirupting that momemtum may mean he goes on a slump. Do we expect Choi to always suck against LH pitching? he needs to be there againts LH, even if he sucks! Cordero's defense on 1st (and LF) has been horrible, and has cost us valuable runs. I hope Jack stop fooling around with his little experiment, and play his starters at least 90% of the time.
May 5, 200422 yr It's really surprising McKeon hasn't gone with Choi more often. Remember last year when McKeon went with the hot hand over and over again. This year he seems to be changing the lineup day after day. Maybe he's among the many that think of April as an extra month of spring training trying to find out if Easley can play outfield or if Cordero can be a platoon partner. But someone needs to tell him these games we count too.

May 5, 200422 yr Author If Choi starts playing against LH, just switch him from the 5th to 6th slot with Conine to release some of the pressure. Nothing else needs to be done.

May 5, 200422 yr c'mon repeatin04..... Choi also has a poor average vs righties coming into this season, so why is he playing at all then? He's obviously improving, & he needs to see more at-bats against righties AND lefties this year.

For that matter, Choi has something like 18 hits and 9 are HRs. He has shown power but little else except an occasional walk. Keep Cordero in there vs. lefties. Cordero is a proven hitter. Nunez is lost and will likely be traded.
