May 10, 200422 yr Miguel Cabrera is a beast. To be leading the Majors in home runs as a 21-year-old playing in the hardest park to hit a home run is staggering. Albert Pujols came into the majors as a full-time player at 21-years-old. Miguel had a half-season and world series championship head start on him, and it seems to me as if he will be every bit as good as Albert, Griffey, possibly even A-Rod. It's absolutely disgusting what a talent he is, and what a smart player he already seems to be. Pujols at 21-years-old: 112 runs scored 194 hits 37 home runs 130 RBI 69 BBs 94 Ks .329 avg. .403 obp Griffey: 76 runs scored 179 hits 22 home runs 100 RBI 71 BBs 82 Ks .327 avg. .399 obp Rodriguez: 100 runs scored 176 hits 23 home runs 84 RBI 41 BBs 99 Ks .300 avg. .350 obp Cabrera (projected): 135 runs scored 184 hits 59 home runs 140 RBI 86 BBs 146 Ks .296 avg. .381 obp 21-year-old bests: Runs Scored: 135- Cabrera Hits: 194- Pujols Home Runs: 59- Cabrera RBI: 140- Cabrera BBs: 86- Cabrera Ks: 146- Cabrera AVG: .329- Pujols OBP: .403- Pujols If Miguel can keep on pace for most of those numbers (obviously those homer/RBI totals won't be as high at seasons end), he could turn out every bit as good or even better than those future hall of famers did.
May 10, 200422 yr If Cabs gets injured or goes into a major slump for the rest of the season, well then I have just two words for you: Shotgun & Shovel :mischief2
May 10, 200422 yr Cabrera is amazing. You guys need to enjoy every magic moment this kid provides. He's that special. 20 years from now you guys will be saying ''we saw the kid at the very beggining of his career and saw him grow into a superstar..''

May 10, 200422 yr There has been some talk that this has been mentioned far too much but, Cabs is leading MLB in HRs. I like the sound of that, let me try it again: Cabs is the MLB leader in Home Runs, even more than Barry Bonds. Ahhhhh
May 10, 200422 yr *A married one also* what does that have anything to do with it? Nothing i just hate when girl's go"i love cab's,im'a be his wife" i'm like no he's married and has a child!omg it pisses me of!
May 10, 200422 yr One of his similiar hitters on baseballprospectus's PECTA cards is Gary F. Sheffield. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/pecota/team_FLO.php not to mention brooks robinson, willie mays, hank aaron, and sammy sosa. Damn.
May 10, 200422 yr I hate when you people talk about all this jinx crap. Just because someone talks good about a player doesn't mean he's jinxing anything.
May 10, 200422 yr you obviously dont know the history involved. You obviously believe in jinxes way too much. Marlins are winning the World Series this year. Ohnoes! I jinxed it!
May 10, 200422 yr Ditto. If you surfed the board before joining in October, then you would know what the jinx is all about...
May 10, 200422 yr It's only a jinx when you acknowledge it to be so openly. Until then it isn't. But since you all decided to.....
May 10, 200422 yr Author And we all know how much I jinxed us last year, with that world series championship we won and all...
May 10, 200422 yr Miguel is a great player. A lot of peope like him. Even though some people like him because of his looks...thats a different story. But Miguel is a great player and I'm not surprised that he is currently leading the majors in home runs. He has a lot of power and people just dont notice him so much and they dont expect so much out of him because of his age and because a lot of people dont get to see him play so much because the Marlins dont get a lot of respect so not so many people know him so well. BTW: There is no such thing as luck or as a jinx. G-d knows whats going to happen already. And if its bad then dont get mad because in the end its really for your good. You cant jinx a team or player by saying something because it dosent effect them at all. Its like if your watching a basketball game on T.V. and you scream because you want to make him miss but your not having any effect on the game or the player because he cant hear you. Even if the players came here and read everyting it still wouldnt matter. I'm sure that they know all this stuff already.
