Stadium POLL

Featured Replies

That's just pathetic. I can understand not going to as many games as they do now, but to never go to a game again, EVER? Wow.... just wow. Talk about being selfish.

LOL...well I mean it's not a large number of voters anyhow, and besides I will bet most of the people voting there are not real fans anyways. They probably stumbled across the article, figured they never go to games anyways. I don't expect every person in MIAMI to like basbeall. I also don't exepect every person that likes baseball and likes the Marlins to be able to go to games. I know my sister in LAW loves the Marlins she has watched them for years. But she hardly ever goes to games, she has a very demanding job and has kids it's just hard for her to go. I am sure there are a lot of people like that.

These are the people speaking! Broward residents of course... not just one person's opinion, but many!

It appears Samson has no problem with the results of this poll? And does not mind alienating a whole group of people??!

I was born and raised in N Miami Beach...and never went to the Orange Bowl area! But once in my life!

Samson said on the radio, at Fan Fest, that the people from Broward email him they want the stadium in Broward. The people in Dade want the park in Dade, and the people in Palm Beach want it in Palm Beach...

THIS IS THE EXACT WORDS HE SAID, I'LL NEVER FORGET IT because...

...that answers the question of where the Marlins should be, RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE!! Can't anyone with a brain in DADE, BROWARD or PALM BEACH come to the conclusion that since BROWARD IS IN THE MIDDLE OF BOTH OTHER COUNTIES, that the

FAIRESTwould be in THE LOCATION IT IS NOW!

You cannot dispute this! There is no debate that this is the fairest!

OK, so force Wayne to give the Fish a fair lease!

Stop the whining, don't go to games and root for the Braves. You can see them on TBS.

I'm in Broward and I WILL go to the OB Stadium

:headscratch

What's the point of this now? The deal's set. Besides, the thing that'll get 'em in the park is a good product (i.e., a winning team). Many shining new facilities are 1/2 full on gameday because management does not commit to putting a decent team on the field. As a resident of Broward and as a season ticket holder, THAT is the only polling result I care about.

The debate is pointless because neither Broward or Palm Beach came to the table with a proposal.

I personally would like to see the new stadium near PPS, but it's not going to happen.

But one thing is for sure, having a new stadium near the OB is much better than staying under the thumb of Huizenga...and is the only way the Marlins will stay in So. Florida.

Talk about over reacting. The stadium deal is done, just be glad the marlins are staying here. The location makes it easier for some and tougher for others, you can't please 3 freakin counties.

In addition, there's also no way to believe those are only broward residents, hell anyone on these boards could vote and sway that poll.

*remembers Broward and Palm Beach didn't make a proposal*

And I will bet... that Miri and you live in Dade!!? :whistle Yea, so? Even if I didn't, I'd still go to games. And you know, if the tables were turned, and the stadium would be constructed in Broward or Palm Beach, and Dade residents would be bitchin', you'd be telling them to shut up too.

You should be THANKFUL that the Marlins are staying in South Florida thanks to Samson!

If Broward ever showed any interest or offered one cent, this argument might have some merit. I really dont understand what Broward residents would have wanted the Marlins to do-pay $350 million all themselves and field a payroll of about $19.99 every year?

I think that is Samson's job! But has he tried?.... Tried hard??!! You and I will never know!?

Because I think he didn't want to try hard myself. He wants his new toy, him and Loria, so they can have all the fun designing there offices, and all the stuff that will be good for them..(just like I know the fun they had designing their ring, but guess what...they went overboard because the darn thing is so big it's almost unwearable!! Do you think that ONE person or player would admit that! Ha Ha no way!!! I wouldn't either!! But Samson knows it! Deep down! He knows it!)

So they'll be fine! While they jam 40,000 people and 40,000 of their cars, uncomfortably in small park and a small area Orange Bowl .

It will be the Miami Marlins again alright!! And we know what happened to that team in that WONDERFUL area of Miami... Bobby Muduro Stadium, formally Miami Stadium....Turned to sh*t...just like everything else down there!

It's unfortunate! But it happened! Used to be nice...I know this, because my mom, dad and I were ALL born and raised in Dade county! My mom, raised in Miami Proper, now it might be more familiar to you as LITTLE HAITI, near Jackson and Edison High, Winwood park in area where I wouldn't feel safe if I was driving down the street her house was on, carrying a firearm and driving a Hummer!

And dad, raised in Hialeah, where slowly when every house was painted purple or Flamingo Pink with bars on the windows and a statue...my grandparents finally couldn't find anyone anymore that would understand what they were saying, when going to the grocery store, etc. and finally felt ALIENATED and were the last to leave Hialeah for Volusia County/ Daytona Beach.

The Park does not need to go back down there...

Joe Robbie did real research to put his stadium where it would be best for ALL.

I think the Miami Herald needs to beware of another libel suit. The jockey is going to sue them, they better get under control because when they slip, Marlins lawyers will be waiting.

I guess it would be like if they moved north of Pro Player...wouldn't Dade county people feel more ALIENATED?

Their poll would be exactly the same...

That's good, insult all of Dade county. Don't tell me that the stadium would be better off in Broward, how good was the Panthers attendance this season??? Joe Robbie put his stadium where it would be best for FOOTBALL. Eight games per season on weekends, not 81 games per year

The point is you cannot freakin please everyone, where Pro Player is now sucks for most of Dade county because of the horrible traffic on weekdays. So while it might keep some northern fans happy most of Dade cannot make it to weekday games. The Marlins cannot please everyone, they are going after what they believe is the largest market and with the people who were willing to help them build a stadium. If Broward helped them build a new state of the art stadium then i'll go to games just like I do now, on weekends.

I'm in Broward and I WILL go to the OB Stadium

that makes two of us :thumbup

I did and I admit it ... mwahahaha

sue the Herald for printing articles with a negative slant? good luck...

herald? ... bad? ... thats unheard of? ... why are you feeding us lies :lol

How can that be "alienating"? Just get in your car and come down to a game on a weekend. If you don't drive, take the Tri-Rail! It can't possibly be that hard. In your profile, it says you're from Pines, so why are you bitchin' so much? I live pretty close to Broward myself and I can care less where the stadium is as long as the Fish stay in S. FLA!

Is sticking it to Huizenga, worth it if you alienate fans?? I guess if your selfish?

Get down on your knees Samson, use your sharp, gift of gab...and schmooze and be friendly and say lets get together Wayne for lunch...how can we work this out Wayne? How can we work a deal that will help the Marlins out? And make you happy? I really need your help Wayne? South Florida will forgive you for the dismantling...it will really benefit all of us!!

What will it take, please!

But has he tried that hard!? YOU AND I WILL NEVER!! KNOW He may want to be a big shot and NOT get on his knees..."We'll show Wayne!"

type of thing...

But in the long run, that selfishness may backfire on him!! And the fans will suffer!

You're missing the point Miri, by putting it in the Orange Bowl area you are ALIENATING more people than you are now!!

I live in broward ... the PRO is about 20 mins from me ( I actually live pretty close to it) but the OB site is far from me and due to that factor maybe I wont make it to as many games as I do now, but I dont care. it could be built in Homestead or in Daytona, it really doesnt matter to me as long as it is in SOUTH FLORIDA

Samson has tried to negotiate with Huizenga. Just ask marlins2003.

exactly ... its that so hard to understand?

I guess some people can't appreciate what they have. :confused It's selfishness to me. Hello, look at those fans who fly down here to go to some games. Now THOSE are TRUE fans!
