May 17, 200422 yr I don't think it will happen since we're so far down, but it sure would be nice to get Huston Street. It would be like making a trade at the deadline, because I think he'll be in some team's bullpen by the end of the season.
May 17, 200422 yr How is the selection order determined? They lineup 30 turtles, each with a team logo stuck to it's shell, and then they race. :plain
May 17, 200422 yr How is the selection order determined? They lineup 30 turtles, each with a team logo stuck to it's shell, and then they race. :plain Seems logical... One thing I never see in a trade is this: draft picks. Does anyone know why? Is it custom or is it a rule saying you can't? Or is it something else?
May 17, 200422 yr Author Admin they rotate between AL and NL and go by worst record, some changes are due to FA compensation. and Houston Street OWNZ
May 17, 200422 yr Another guy in this year's draft that could see the majors by the end of the year is Jeff Weaver's brother Jered. He'll most likely be chosen #1 and could help the Padres if they make a run at the playoffs. The kids numbers in college are ridiculous.

May 17, 200422 yr I saw Houston Street at last year's College WS and he was just sick...absolutley lights out. As for Weaver...great bloodlines he has... :lol
May 17, 200422 yr yeah that sucks, I think the draft would attract a lot more attention if the teams could trade picks.
May 17, 200422 yr I thought we were supposed to get some Compensatory picks for either Pudge or Urbina.
May 17, 200422 yr Author I thought we were supposed to get some Compensatory picks for either Pudge or Urbina. we did not offer arbitration therefor they did not decilne it. we get nothing and like it.

May 17, 200422 yr Author yup yup I think the fish will go the usual way, Pitchers and Catchers. there is some solid talent in the college ranks and the prep pitchers always tempt the Marlin FO.

Yeah I would like to see the Marlins take a Catcher as their 1st pick. Unless there is a pitcher that they just can't pass up.

BA said this is one of the weakest crops of high school talent in awhile, so expect to see a lot of college players chosen.
