farmer_fran
I don't think it will happen since we're so far down, but it sure would be nice to get Huston Street. It would be like making a trade at the deadline, because I think he'll be in some team's bullpen by the end of the season.
Admin
How is the selection order determined?
nc marlin
I can't wait. You can almost pencil in Weaver at #1.
Hugg
How is the selection order determined? They lineup 30 turtles, each with a team logo stuck to it's shell, and then they race. :plain

Is it custom or is it a rule saying you can't? Or is it something else?
KJC
Admin they rotate between AL and NL and go by worst record, some changes are due to FA compensation. and Houston Street OWNZ
farmer_fran
Another guy in this year's draft that could see the majors by the end of the year is Jeff Weaver's brother Jered. He'll most likely be chosen #1 and could help the Padres if they make a run at the playoffs. The kids numbers in college are ridiculous. farmer_fran
yeah that sucks, I think the draft would attract a lot more attention if the teams could trade picks.

KJC
yup yup I think the fish will go the usual way, Pitchers and Catchers. there is some solid talent in the college ranks and the prep pitchers always tempt the Marlin FO.

Yeah I would like to see the Marlins take a Catcher as their 1st pick. Unless there is a pitcher that they just can't pass up.

BA said this is one of the weakest crops of high school talent in awhile, so expect to see a lot of college players chosen.
