June 2, 200422 yr The attitude around here has been pretty crappy lately. I'm looking at these standings, and I see none other than the mighty Fish alone atop first place in the NL East. This is to my knowledge the latest we've ever consistently been in first place. Our two offensive weaknesses have been corrected, with one learning how to hit and the other finding himself on the disabled list. Our bullpen, though inconsistent, is by no means as terrible as it is made out to seem. One or two minor tweaks and it could be as reliable as any. The bottom half of the lineup has decided to produce, our money hitters for the most part aren't paying attention. And we aren't even playing with our entire team! I'm going to keep updating this everyday until it's all said and done in September. We rode one of these to the Wild Card and the World Series last season, why not keep it going with our first ever division banner to go along with World Series ring #3?
June 2, 200422 yr throw a at the end of the HTML, that should fix everything. And yes, you're right. I don't see any reason to be negative about this team right now. We lost a couple games (shrugs), who doesn't lose a couple games every now and then? We're in first place, Philly gained no ground. Dontrizzle for the block tomorrow.
June 2, 200422 yr With A-Gon turning it on and Castro gone, hopefully the bottom of our line-up can produce a little more than 2 hits a game. I still love that Marlins quote in your sig BTW.
June 2, 200422 yr The Phillies are falling apart. The city is calling for Bowa's head and they still have no leadoff hitter and a GM who seems unwilling to deal. We just need to shore up the pen and get another hitter and then we run away with this division.
June 2, 200422 yr Any one remember where the Fish were in the standings last year at this time? Exactly. So shut up and be happy :thumbup
June 2, 200422 yr Look at my sig...I dont have 'Return of the Kings' for no reason. Juanky, great job! :mischief I got your back... This team is going to win and finally, it is good to see some people not being so ridiculous about this team's 'problems'. We are doing fine and will only get better. Sure, we struggle at times - but as long as everything doesnt struggle at the same time, we will be more than ok. We have the best starters in the league. We have the best closer (arguably) in baseball. We have 3 guys, right now, with 10+HRs - so we have the power. We have one of the best defensive teams in baseball. Our bullpen is starting to turn the corner and will only improve. I see this team getting better, not worse, and I still stand by that for this month we WILL go 20-7. So far, 0-1.

So far, 0-1. this is an awesome post for us positivists. I hate it when people b***h after every single loss! Yes, I get pissed too, but it's a sport, and you'll win and you loose. The important thing here is that when we look up the standings for the NL East, we still see the MARLINS in the TOP. That's all that matters. We're playing as good as we've ever played. There will be struggles in the way, but our team seems to move on and find a way to win. :thumbup
June 2, 200422 yr Even after today, you got to feel good about this team. Sure, we got swept by the Reds - but they are playing out of their mind and wont be this good later in the season. That said, tip your hat. They beat us today. Or actually, we didnt help our own cause. 15 LOB's today. Sooner or later, our offense is going to explode.
June 2, 200422 yr I want this to be pinned. I looked at the site for a while before joining it last year and remember the Wild Card thread vividly.
June 2, 200422 yr For once, Juanky comes up with a good idea with this thread. :lol Thank God the Marlins are done playing the Reds this year, now it's on to Shea to take on the Mets and it's A.J. Burnett time tomorrow. :thumbup
June 2, 200422 yr Although we were swept I can not get over how much the team has impoved this series. Struggling players are coming through. Castro is out. Burnett is back. We've been racking up the hits. I don't know how we'll fare against the Mets this weekend (the Reds' best hitters weren't fooled the second time around) but I like our chances to pull away this month.
June 2, 200422 yr Our bullpen is starting to turn the corner and will only improve. s*** they can't get much worse anyway yupp i'm very optimistic for this team, we're gonna have our slumps now and then but overall it's been a good start. i can definitely see us making a great run again, we have the team for it great thread juankster :thumbup
June 3, 200422 yr I agree, it dosent matter how many we lose as longs as its fewer than the rest of the divsion. Thats very surprising though that we have allowed the most runs in the divsion and are only 2 back of scoring the most. I would think that it would be the other way around.
June 3, 200422 yr I just think that most people here are so spoiled by winning in the post season last year, that they forgot how to lose. We can't expect everyone to be perfect everytime.. we'll win some... we'll lose some. It's ok as long as we try our hardest.
June 3, 200422 yr When you consider we have chances to win just about every night, it really isn't going that bad. Only 7 of 23 losses have been by more than 3 runs.....we are 9 of 15 in 1 run games. So we are giving ourselves chances to win almost every night. A few more key additions to the team come July and we could be off to the races again! :thumbup

June 3, 200422 yr The Mets just finished sweeping the Phils, we all know what happened to us. The Expos blow ass, and Atlanta has a mini streak going. Hopefully we can head to Shea and put the Mets in their place four straight headed by the Chief Horseman, and life will be good on the throne once again :thumbup
June 3, 200422 yr I think we all owe Juanky a BJ Big Jug......Thats how you say "un abrazo" in english right ?
