July 12, 200422 yr Author sheff, i agree with your position on the trade now, but what made you change your mind? it seemed like yesterday you were adamantly opposed to the trade, even starting a thread that riley had f'd up, and now you seem to be talking positively about it. 453875[/snapback] well,heres the thing.At first i heard all the talks and they were all premature. alot of questions about who it would be. would butler go to?and the pick also pissed me off. then i realized the pick was after 2006. a lil better.then it wont be a high pick cuz we will be a dominant team. then i started thinking,theres no way we win a title with odom and butler and no big man. there are no big men left available after all were taken up.we also unloaded grants huge contract. in 2 years should shaq not extend his contract, him and eddie would be gone together and that would total over 40 mill in cap space. thats enough to sign 2 max player contracts. meaning we could pursue the 2 best players on the market if we wanted. so even after shaq is gone,we can still add more power to this team after. its a good way to rent odom for a year get rid of grant and then add firepower in 2 years.and i also remembered in 1 or 2 years dorell wright will be ready and theres no room for caron.

July 12, 200422 yr I think Channel 4 and Channel 33 is eating big crow for not meeting the Heat's demands for more games in Palm Beach and Fort Myers next season. For the 2004-2005 Heat season, all games will either be on Sunshine Network, ESPN, TNT, or ABC.

Everyone is starting to get real excited about this in South Florida (which of course is no shock) - all they talk about in the news, front cover of the papers, the sign at the marlins game and even Wade said that he's happy to be playing alongside Shaq. For some reason, it hasn't really hit me yet. I mean, SHAQ is gonna be in that white heat uniform next season...wow. I guess it'll sink in when I see the news conference with Shaq and Riley and them taking pictures with the new uniform.
