Good Job Yankee Fans

i'm curious what this douchebag did prior to the iraq war when he'd go to yankee stadium or other stadiums and hear them play god bless america.

did he stand or sit? does anyone know?

He probably stood. But the other day decided that he needed some publicity so he actually linked apples and oranges and started sitting.

No skin off my back.

Good for Carlos...showing some balls

Props

How is this showing some balls?

Anyone could not stand for this.

Show your anti-war support at a rally or in some other forum, not by disrespecting out nation and the person who is singing the song.

To those who clearly don't understand the point of this thread, read Passion's post /\

is it really that damn serious?

let the man sit, does it affect your life in any way, shape, or form?

didn't think so. i mean my god, let's all hate delgado because he didn't stand during a song. big freakin whoop.

It's not the fact that he sits during the song that bothers myself and Passion and other who disagree with what Delgado does, it's the message it sends.

By going out of his way to not stand during God Bless America, he is doing more than "sitting during a song", he is disrespecting his own country, and in my opinion he is disrespecting those that died on 9/11, seeing as 9/11 was what caused GBA to be played during games in the first place.

If the guy doesn't agree with the war in Iraq that's fine, but to just disrespect his own country and ignore God Bless America is just being incredibly ignorant.

they were talking about this on Tough Crowd and one of the guys said, he should stand up because the rest of the team is.

Seriously, if he decided not to take BP or warm up before a game because he was making a point, would that be ok? Look, standing up for the 7th inning stretch is part of baseball.

Hey Passion, why don't we go out and lynch him like the "good old days?"

Get over it.

if he sat during the national anthem, i have no arguement...that to me would be disrespecting your country.

i don't even think it should send a message, i don't even think it should be news. i personally think it's annoying that they play GBA every damn game. 9/11 was freakin 3 years ago, whatever happened to "take me out to the ballgame". thats a REAL 7th inning stretch song, not some patriotic song to keep on reminding us of the past. they played it out.

nugz got pwned!

yah! 9/11 was almost 3 years ago! Who cares about 2000 innocent people dying because of terrorists!

oh please

of course I care but to keep reminiscing about it isn't gonna bring them back. it just gets old when the song is played over and over and over and over again.

Give me a focking break... not standing during the national anthem is disrespect towards your country, not GBA... I could care less about people not standing for "God Bless America."

Good for Carlos... he's doing what he believes in... I respect that...

an uninformed belief....

God Bless America has nothing to do with supporting Bush's war in Iraq...

I like it as a tradition...I think it's great to hear patriotic songs (besides the national anthem) being played. I wish they'd mix it up though, and play some other stuff...such as My Country Tis of Thee...there are some great patriotic songs....and with baseball being America's pasttime, it's a beautiful union...

And continue politicizing the game? No thanks...

take me out to the ballgame is overrated....one can still have a helluva time w/out take me out to the ball game...

when I was younger and watched the Cubs...(before the Marlins came about), I used to hate the 7th inning stretch, because I thought Harry Carry took forever singin it, and figured the commercial break combined with the song took forever.....

when I'm at a game...if they're singin somethin, it gives me time to get in line for some nachos and a coke, and use the little boys' room....

i'd rather hear a baseball-related song than whip out the whole patriotic card, which we already have the national anthem.

why don't we have a moment of silence too!

oh oh i got a good one

i say we have everybody attending games donate a dollar to help fund for the war!
