Have you ever caught a HR ball?

Featured Replies

Has anyone here ever caught a HR ball? And if it was from the opposing team (against the Fish), would you throw it back?

I haven't, but I haven't sat in the outfield for the longest time. If I were to catch a Thome HR it would go straight back to the outfield. I'd only keep it if it were Barry's or Sammy's.

I've been going to baseball games for fifty years (always with my glove) and I've never caught so much as a foul ball...lol...such is life.

I almost caught a Giambi homerun ball in Bp in the WS would of been cool but couldnt hold on, your garenteed a ball in founders club so i got homerun ball that the fans threw back but my dad took it to work and it got confiscated because it was in the anthrax building in Boca.

never even caught a foul ball :(

i would never throw a homerun ball back to the field, even it was hit by the opposing the team.

as i said above, i almost caught an AJ Burnett homerun.

my sister though has caught a Derrek Lee Homerun.

Was also afew feet away from a Mark Mcgwire Homerun durin 1997.

I have, but it was during BP and it was the opposing team. To tell you the truth..i have NO idea who hit it because i was just about to sit in my seat when it came right to me. :D

Loria threw out the first pitch when Marlins faced Univ of Miami at the Light back in spring training 2002, just after he took control of the team. He tossed me the ball & I met him afterwards & he autographed it for me.

I also have one signed by John Henry.

Nothing from HWH - would burn it anyway.

I was sitting in the first row of right field about 10 years ago with 3 of my friends, and all 4 of us left the game with a ball... 2 HR's and 2 ground rule doubles...

That was an amazing day.

I got hit by Sea Bass' grand slam home run ball in the shoulder. Damn guy in front deflected it and I couldn't catch it.

I have caught both a foul ball and a homerun, neither by Marlins player :(

The foul ball was by Timo Perez and the homerun ball by Griffey when he hit 2 last season at the Pro.

I've been sitting in the founders club for years and have never caught so much as a foul ball or ball being tossed by the players walking off the field.

If I sat in the outfield and caught a home run ball, I wouldn't throw it back under any circumstance, even if the fans around me were booing and shouting "throw it back."

About 2 months or so ago when the Reds were here, Griffey hit a home run, I believe it was number 494 where he passed Lou Gherig (493) on the all time home run list and the stupid fan actually threw the ball back and the bat boy that sits in the outfield kept it.

Well the one im talking about is down the frst baseline where dozens of foul balls go, the panflit garenteed a ball and i got one so just asuming.

I've caught a bunch of balls during BP, both jacks and balls tossed to me.

Never caught a homer during a game, but used to snag many a foul ball when I sat in the first base founder's club when I was a kid. Ah, those were the days.

Well in the four games I went to in Miami earlier this year, got a hand on two foul balls, but other than that never caught one. Earlier this year a Javy Lopez homerun was kind of close but not really

Oh, and unless it was really special, I'd throw back anything the other team hit to where the Tank was (Homers, Ground Rule Doubles, etc).
