Dontrelle Willis Vs. Carlos Zambrano

------- Vs. -------

TV: PAX | Radio: WKAT 1360, WQBA 1140

WGN where available

Madden's Prediction:

Now the goal of this game will be to score some runs OK?

The team that uses its players the right way and scores

more runs than the oposing team will have a great chance

of coming out of here with a victory. As long as they get

key hits in timely situations. BOOM!

the Cabrera jersey will be out in full force

Yahoo! Sports Game Preview

The Florida Marlins and Chicago Cubs battled for the NL championship last October. Now, the two are fighting tooth and nail just to make the postseason.

After a doubleheader split, the wild-card contenders will continue a four-game series at Wrigley Field.

Playing for the first time since Florida beat Chicago in seven games for the NL pennant, the Marlins took the series opener 7-0 behind a seven-hit shutout by Carl Pavano. The Cubs rebounded to rout the Marlins 11-2 in the nightcap as Moises Alou and Aramis Ramirez hit back-to-back homers. Florida has won 18 of its last 25 games.

``It was important for them not to come into our house and sweep us,'' Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. ``Very rarely to do you see reverse blowouts like today.''

Locked in a five-team race for the wild card, every game has game postseason implications for the Cubs and Marlins.

``I don't think it was make or break for us, per se. If we had lost two, we could have found ourselves in a very deep hole and would have to kind of dig out of it,'' Mark Prior said after pitching the Cubs to victory in the second game.

Chicago is tied with San Francisco and Houston for the wild-card lead with the Marlins tied with San Diego, just 1 1/2 games back.

``The dynamics of this race are that there are five teams, so you can't get too far behind and you can't have too many people in front of you,'' Prior said.

Friday's doubleheader served as a makeup from the three-game set that was wiped out by Hurricane Frances last weekend in Miami. The teams also must play a doubleheader Sept. 20 in Florida.

Florida will be staying in Chicago for a while after its series. The Marlins' series with Montreal on Monday and Tuesday has been moved to Chicago's north side at U.S. Cellular Field because of Hurricane Ivan.

``We have a crazy next 10 days, so if we get on a good start, I think that's a key for this team,'' Pavano said.

Florida owner Jeff Loria has tried to put his players minds at ease by allowing them to bring their families on the trip to Chicago.

``I think Mr. Loria has been unbelievable,'' Marlins catcher Paul Lo Duca said. ``He let everyone have their family come on this trip to get away from that. That's awesome. You play this game but it is a game. I'm glad a lot of the guys have their families with them.''
