Posted September 12, 200420 yr What was your favorite book growing up at Grade School? I loved a lot of books but nothing beat "Far Side of THe Mountain" for me. I think every kid who read that book wanted to go out and live in the woods off the land. Just a great, fun book to read as a kid basically summing up every young kids fantasy.
September 12, 200420 yr Hatchet. 554274 :notworthy That book was amazing. I got another one: "Where the Red Fern Grows" So sad at the end. One of the best books IMO written.

September 14, 200420 yr The BFG.? Another absolute awesome kid's book that I recently read. 555882 That's a really good book. I read it when I was in third grade. It's one of my favorites. I love "The Outsiders". My favorite book when I was younger was, well it's not a childrens book, but it was "The Bone Collector", which was quite ahead of my grade level. I think I was in 4th grade when I read it. Great book. Hey Rune isn't it called "My Side of the Mountain." Jean Craighead George wrote "My Side of the Mountain" and the sequel "On the Far Side of the Mountain". I read then both in fourth grade. I don't really like them, but I'm not an outdoors person.
