Why would you give up a young power hitting lefty with a sky high ceiling and an iron man pitcher for a good, albeit struggling pitcher and a FA to be 2nd baseman? I know Luis is a FA after the season, but maybe the Reds would agree to it if they could sign him to a deal right away. If they wait 'til after the season his price maybe goes up when teams bid for him. The Reds could sure use a leadoff hitter in front of those bats over there....not to mention another starter. Down to a 4-man rotation last I checked. The Reds should have some money to spend anyway with Larkin's money finally freed up next year.

(in my homer opinion) Reds dealt with the Marlins once before and it bit them in the arse so Reds might be sketchy with Penny struggling recently and hearing reports about his elbow. Im not sure if we want to pay for Castillo with Olmedo seemingly blossoming right before our eyes (his cheap price tag looks good to Bowden as well). My heart says no to virtually any trade involving Dunn unless its super-primo pitching who has proven themselves... The Reds season is over in my opinion. Sub .500 in a division of losers? How would the Reds win a World Series if they cant compete with friggin Chicago? Reds should get ready for next year and get some good pitching. Doing it now is fruitless unless all the Reds want is a division win... As a Reds fan, I look for a WS victory and thats what the Reds FO should be looking at from year to year.

Actually I like the Reds a lot so it's one of the teams I don't mind as much seeing Marlins players traded to, I can still root for them there. You're probably right though, Reds wouldn't do it.
