December 21, 200421 yr c/o Rotoworld Marlins non-tendered LHP Matt Perisho. Very surprising. Lefties hit just .207 off Perisho last season, and the Marlins have no internal candidates to replace him. Maybe they'll sign Gabe White, but even so, Perisho would have been worth keeping at $750,000 or so. :confused WTF-? Not as if Vulture was anything special, but he was solid vs lefties & is cheap. I hope this is because they've got someone better in mind... :headscratch
December 21, 200421 yr Ahahahahahahahahah! Ohhohohohohohoho! And everyone asks me why I hate this front office.
December 21, 200421 yr Perisho can re-sign with the Marlins. They just might not have want to given him the 750k in arbitration he would have gotten and try and get him for the minimum, or just less than what he would have gotten in arbitration. Yeah, the FO is cheap like that.
December 21, 200421 yr They're freeing up money for __________________ :whistle 639719 I think the name for that blank is "Loria"
December 21, 200421 yr NOOOOOoooo... what a stupid move by the FO...... he was a great left specailist he got the job done
December 21, 200421 yr The Vulture swooping in for those 2 wins in week one was great when he threw 1 pitch and got a double play. He was not good against righties but he's supposed to be our lefty specialist anyway and he did the job there. Plus he's cheap. Don't like it.
December 21, 200421 yr Perisho blows 639697 Only against righties. He ownz vs. lefties not named Griffey.
December 21, 200421 yr And Casey. What I want to know is, why not go hard after Steve Kline if you are going to let Perisho go? Who is there left to take his place, unless Dontrelle is coming out of the pen this year.
December 21, 200421 yr Maybe there gona make a trade and aquire a good lefty, or just sign one, u cant judge deals until spring training..
December 21, 200421 yr A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would have felt alot better about jettisoning Perisho had we already signed Kline, who signed elsewhere.
December 22, 200421 yr he put up good numbers last year ... this is pretty dumb I hope they have a better alternative
December 22, 200421 yr I have faith in Beinfest.. He's either confident that Perisho will sign for less, avoiding arbitration... Or he's confident that he will get someone to replace him.. I just hope Bentz isn't the person he's planning on having replace him... It's way too early to tell.. I'm curious to see where this is going.

I can't even begin to think about what it must have been like for him as a kid. And to have the guts to go out there and learn the game, never giving up on himself, to keep going, it's the kind of story that makes baseball the great sport that it is.
December 22, 200421 yr Just don't pitch him against anyone who swings a bat from the right side and you're safe. I don't understand this, but I agree he ain't worth $750K.
