Expos Series

Featured Replies

How huge is this series? I think if we get swept here look for all our Free Agents that we are not going to bring back next year to get dumped. Maybe Loria might give us a bit more time but I think we are close to starting to trading away some of our key players. The fans will probaly get mad but at least we will have a chance next year. It pisses me off that players keep saying that the fans make them player harder but when the fans come most of the time they come out on the losing end. I expect the attendance to decrease within the next few games with the Cubs leaving town. It seemed during the series that most of the fans were Cub fans. So come on Beckett keep the season alive and wake the phuck up offense! Someone has to step up for Lowell thats what good teams do.

we lose 2 of 3 and the world is coming to an end

When there is no sign of offense for two straight games you can't help but get a little worried.

We HAVE to win BOTH games against the Expos or its a pointless two-game series.

we didnt exactly face 2 Michael Tejera's out there

those were 2 very good pitchers

You have to face good pitchers in order to win the World Series. All because we face good pitchers doesn't mean we have to lose. I hate these excuses about facing too good pitching. No excuse to score only 2 runs in 18 innings.

IF we lose both games of the Spo's series we are not out of it...we have time to get our offense together and work out our pitching...

I dont mean to sound like a whiner but...Todays loss was because of the Delay, Willis' arm was cold and the infield was like a slip n ' slide....if there was no delay i would expect a closer game...maybe a marlins win.

I expect the Marlins too sweep the Spos but even if they dont, we're not out of 'it'

I think the Expos series will be a swing series for us.

-In order to stay in the race, we must win this series 2-0. No questions asked.

-As for today, I expected it. Willis had to give sooner or later. I was just happy it was later. Now he can win another 8 before his next loss :p

-What is the pitching matchup for the Expos?

I know that Beckett and Pavano will pitch for us, but who will for them? (Please let it not be Livan)

We must beat the Braves 2-0, no questions asked in order to be true contenders.

no we dont

If you can't beat those above you, you can never pass them. Even though the Division Race is a long shot, we must beat anyone in our way in order to get the wildcard.

There is no reason with our two best starters against the Braves (Redman and Penny) we cannot sweep. We must go against Hampton and Ortiz.

We must win no matter who, no excuses and no questions.

Braves are the best team in baseball by 4 games over the next best team. I think well play them well, but saying we need a sweep to be contenders is a bit much.

if we cant beat the teams ahead of us? Shouldnt we be beating every team? What if we beat teams ahead of us, but not below us (i.e. Cubs)?

Hypothetically, say we lose both to Atlanta. That doesnt mean we cant beat em. It means we didnt. We are 6 games back at the very worst. Definitely still a contender. What if we get swept by Atlanta and then take 2 of 3 against Philly? Does that mean we still arent true contenders?

You cant let individual series define a season. A season is a compilation of series.

We need to beat Atlanta, 2-0. No questions, this team needs to go on a tear in order to jump ahead of the pack, and it must be done now in order to build a cushion as the other teams in the pack are playing poorly.
