Good luck to Justin. I just don't know if he has major league stuff.

Yeah, I know. He just hasn't shown that he can do it for the longterm as a major leaguer yet. He was a stud at Stanford setting records there and was even considered a strikeout pitcher getting 363 K's while there which is still the record.

I still believe he can do it.

I also want to wish Justin the best of luck. I am sure he'll hook up with another team and do very well!

I had kinda been wondering about Ben Howard!

Best of luck to you, Justin. Wish you could have shown us more of your stuff while you were here, but it just didn't work out. Hope you land on your feet somewhere (maybe in the AL somewhere :whistle ) and really develop into a big game pitcher that you can be.

Awww man, really bad news.

I wish him the best of luck and will definitely follow his career, regardless of where he goes.

If he wasn't Loria's pet, he would've been gone last year.

so true

That's random

Was he out of options?

He had already cleared waivers. Was outrighted to AAA over a week ago.

He was 2-0 in minor league games since too.

Glad to see him go. If he wasn't Loria's pet, he would've been gone last year.

He was fantastic in Spring last season and then for the first 2 months until Jack overused him. Forget that? He EARNED his Opening Day roster spot.

How soon we forget how everyone was jumping on his back when he was producing for the first couple months of 2004.

I stand by my "good riddance." One good month does not a career make.

Yeah but your statement that he would've been gone last year is inaccurate. Are you saying he only made the team because of Loria and not because of his Spring?

I'm saying he probably would've been gone after his '02 and '03 performances (I don't think he lit up AAA, either) if he wasn't Loria's "boy".

Ah ok, I thought you forgot how he did earn his spot last season.

Why release him off the 40-man roster unless your planning on making a trade :shifty

724540[/snapback]

He had no options. He was outrighted because of that last week or so. Today's release came as a shock since he was free to be a Tope.

Ben Howard was outrighted for the same reason, no options left.

Again, a trade has nothing to do with it. He was outrighted off the 40 man roster a week or so or go because they had to do that to send him down to AAA since he was out of options. Today's release would not help or hinder a trade in any way.
