Yep, just like Luis would have been safe. Should be 1-0 Marlins right now, but let's hope we can open up on 'em in the 2nd inning.

I'll be pleased if Lowell has a decent at bat. PLEASE MIKEY! Make me happy

Foul .. pop out .. 1st pitch :plain

So, while watching Lieberthal essentially sit on top of home plate, I was wondering what's to prevent a team from getting a 700 lb. sumo wrestler to play catcher and just sit on the plate, thereby preventing the other team from scoring on anything but a HR?

Anyone?

I've never seen anyone actually sit on top of the plate before, like Lieberthal did. I've seen plenty of plate-blocking, but it's always been up the line at least a little.

Who's to say the throw will always be there? You can score on singles, doubles, because the throw isn't always there. The ball would probably get lost in his fat, but you wouldn't worry about a passed ball atleast.

1-2-3 we go. What's up with Mikey hitting the first pitch. Goodness.

Lets go AJ!

/newsflash

Benitez blows the save and loses the game. Started with a 3 run lead. gave up 4 runs. Dodgers win.

Benitez ERA at 13.5

I am more concerned about Lowell than Castillo.

Of course. Power hitters with slumps are much more important than slap hitters with slumps.

Awful inning...Im starting to get concerned about our offense. They are not carrying their weight. Couldn't hit in spring training either.

When the majority of the lineup was there, we were doing above average hitting. I know one game I was at, they were down 7-0, and came back to win. Think it was 11-7 final or something.

They are looking dead. I can understand hitting the ball hard and making outs. But these guys are looking like a team that is out of contention in September.
