What's the matter with that? It's all a matter of opinion. How soon that we forget that Nate is a former first rounder, just like the (gasp) "almighty" Beckett - who, by the way, is still only 2 games over .500. You say that Beckett has always had potential and can have a career year; why can't Nate, who also "has potential" have a career year as well?

Because Bump just doesn't have the "stuff" that Josh has. Nor does he appear to have fire in his belly that Beckett has shown, good days and bad. I'd like to see Bump flourish and provide some quality innings for this team, I have nothing against the guy but the two simply are not comparable.

I used to be a Bump hater, but now I am a fan of his. He's played well so far and he certainly has the potential to be a very good long reliever. He just needs to stay away from the big inning. I especially like the fact that he's a groundball pitcher... bodes well for us with our infield defense. I say we send Perisho down to AAA when Riedling comes back. Perisho has just gotten knocked around.

I have Josh at 10. 2-0, 15 IP, 8 H, 0 ERA, 17 K's... he's been incredible. Through 2 starts he's been the best pitcher in baseball.

Because i didnt divide him by lefty and right i combined it. Against lefties hes like a 7 or 8 but against righties hes a 1 or 2. so i averaged it out to a 4 overall. You know nothing about leiter if you think hes that bad. Even last year his ERA was 3.21, his problem is he walks too many people. I do agree that i like seeing perisho against lefties but thats it. How you can have more confidence in a situational lefty than on a bonafide veteran all-star is beyond me

Dude, Bump was awesome this series. 4, well, 3 shutout innings. Only two balls were hit hard, the homer and the foul right before it. The other hits were tapped and probably would have been converted into outs if the fielders didn't know the score. And three rare strikeouts.
