QuickGold
As I was listening to last night's game on the radio and then on TV, it was really pathetic how the Mets fans at the game were able to drownout the Marlins fans. I don't care how many 80 year olds moved to Florida, the fact of the matter is if they get a "Lets go Mets" chant going, our fans should get a MUCH louder "Lets go Marlins" chant to drown them out. Instead, we get a chorus of boos. Give me a break. Keep blaming traffic, no free donuts or Everybody Loves Raymond reruns, but the Marlins have an apparently well deserved stigma of being bad fans. Dan Marino Forever 13
When that happened last night the Marlins fans drowned them out with one loud boo. I was at the game and what a game it was.
Guest Juanky
You can't really chant "Let's Go Marlins" ahead of "Let's Go Mets" because they aren't on the same beat. Mets is one syllable, Marlins is two. Doesn't really work chat wise, all you would get is "Let's Go Mrararalins". Boos work better anyways. TSwift25
I got everyone in my section to chant "seven to nothing" clap clap clapclapclap, and then "check the scoreboard" clap clap clapclapclap. Last night, it honestly looked like it was a 50/50 split, so maybe get on that, but not on the chants; the booing of lets go Mets is standard, it's been done for just about as long as I can remember. Who are you to judge up in Connecticut? I applaud any Marlin fan who went to the game last night. If you consider Met fans and their boorish behavior to be "good" fans...I'll live with the stigma of being a bad Marlin fan. :thumbdown

And if I was in the area, you bet your ass I'd at the games in Miami. It should not get to a point where the visiting team's fans are more vocal than the home team. How can you call the Mets fans "boorish" for cheering their team on? Thats what fans do; they cheer on their team. It should not sound like the game is being played at Shea when it's in fact in Miami.
JetsMania
I wasnt there so I cant say, but 21,000 fans on wednesday is a good amount for us. Today should be bigger and hopefully carry into the weekend.

Marlins2003
I know this is irrelevant to the discussion at hand but I have to say the best part of last night's game (besides the Marlins offensive explosion of course and Luis' barehand play) was watching Cliff Floyd striking out to end the game. Thank you baseball gods, thank you.

PhxPhin
holly, you know we love you and all, but ........... last night here were the draws Baltimore - 36,478 Washington - 27,374 Detroit - 16,887 Philly -25,961 Toronto - 22,838 Florida - 21,339 Tampa - 8,816 St. Louis - 44,855 Minnesota - 24,153 Cincy - 16,857 Houston - 26,119 Angels - 42,531 Seattle - 24,841 San Diego - 37,054 San Fran - 36,955 that makes the averag attendence 27,537 so as you can see a lot of teams around the major weren't even close to having only 16,000 in attendance in fact the marlins were well short of the average and only managed to beat tampa, cincy & detroit i'm not wanting to rehash the attendance discussion again, but people in florida need to realize that 21k for a game isn't the norm ... that there is a lot of room to do better, even considering that FL has been a tough baseball market

PhxPhin
and that's another thing ... no one thinks that the people on this fans are "bad fans" or uninterested, etc just the community as a whole has issues ...... the problem isn't marlins fans, it's the general lack of them people on this board run the spectrum of fans ... old, new, traditional, immature, etc ... but all are fans and all would do what they can to catch this team just there is a general frusteration that the rest of south florida can't see what we do and help out the franchise, by supporting the team, going to games and forcing through a new stadium it is also frusterating for us out of state fans, because it takes effort to follow the team, put up with abuse at road games and have a general longing to actually see the marlins more than a few times a year (i know locals have their issues as well) because of this, when we see an empty home stadium, or opposing fans making a larger representation in the marlins home stadium, it is annoying
