that Mike Lowell has an RBI in 8 straight games

that is tied with Sheffield(1994), Alou(1997), and Pudge(2003)

tomorrow he goes for the record

cool,i heard that he had hit in 7 str8 with and r.b.i. in each of those games and i was thinking bout what was the record.

I also think Pudge has some sort of little streak going on. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I think it has to do with 9 games. It might be just a hit-streak. Anybody know for sure?

if it is a hit streak, its over now....

or is it?

does a walk count against the streak?

maybe it doesnt

Most probably it is a hit streak,oh yea its over cuz he walked in his only a.b. today. :thumbup

A walk don't count as an ab...

So it's not over. :D

Actually yes it is over im pretty sure i've seen a pich-hit walk end a guy's hitting streak. :)

A walk does not count as an at bat, therefore, Pudge still has his hit streak. That happened to Castillo last season where he played a game and got 3-4 at bats, but was walked or sacrificed every at bat which meant it was not counted as an at bat and his hit streak continued.

So just to get things straight...

We've got Lowell with an 8-game RBI Streak...

and Pudge with a 9-game Hitting Streak... ?

Not bad!

Mike was struggling right before the All Star break and since he got that double in the All star Game he has been hot again....i wonder if the Groin was bothering him while he was slumping.

Maybe the three days off during the Cubs series helped him out as well.

Trader Jack knows his players!

:D

Did anyone know that the Big Unit got his 3,000 k here? His victim was Lowell. I was at that game I'll never forget it.

I think Schilling got his 300th K for the season at PPS in 1998 (while playing for Phila).

I think Schilling also got his 3,000th at PPS (back in 99 or 00 while he was still with the Phillies).

Schilling has 2,457 strikeouts in his career, so I doubt he got his 3000th at Pro Player in 99 or 2000.

As for the rule on hitting streak, MLB rule 10.24(b) says: A consecutive game hitting streak shall not be terminated if all the player's plate appearances (one or more) result in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt. The streak shall terminate if the player has a sacrifice fly and no hit. The player's individual consecutive game hitting streak shall be determined by the consecutive games in which the player appears and is not determined by his club's games.

someone back me up if you heard this during sunday's radio broadcast....

Boog threw out some insane stat on Pudge. He's batting like .580 with runners in scoring position for the past 40 games.

After a pause Boog adds, "...I don't even know what to do with that."

Apologies if I already posted this...
