Lets have this conversation after the end of the season. With that said, I'm not opposed to trading Lowell. Lowell or Conine are not the future of this franchise, Beckett/Willis and Cabrera are.
May 19, 200521 yr This sounds like a very Moneyball(the book)-style move on the DePodesta's part. They know Lowell's trade value has hit rock-bottom, and the Marlins may be willing to do something impulsive because our offense isn't where we want it to be right now. So, maybe they can figure they can get Lowell at below market value, and then keep him or turn around and trade him at a much higher value. I don't think we should do this trade b/c sooner or later he's gonna break out of that and I'd rather it happen in Miami than in LA.
