They'll have forgotten what it was like to play baseball by 2007. Piniella won't be around in 07 either, I'm surprised he hasn't killed some of his players already. For every Crawford TB has a Brazelton, LaFoest, Gomes, Diaz. Guys for some reason or other who can't get the job done.

May 29, 200521 yr Im GLAD if Pinella is gone by then. In fact, I guarantee it, he is horrible with developing younger players. Sternberg will probably force him to resign and fire Lamar. How is Gomes bad? he hit .305 in a brief stint this year with 2 HR'S in 23 ABS. Hes also DESTROYING AAA. What, you expect our farm to not have one BAD player? sheesh. Realistically, im not saying well be better than Florida, or make the playoffs for that matter. But, down the road, the Rays WILL be in contention year in and year out.
