Don't get me wrong, Mikey is one of my favorite players, and don't kill me either. But does Mikey's slump has to do with steroids, I didn't and I don't want to belive this. But its just a little bit.. how can I put it? intriguing, confusing, fuzzy. He once said that he was in trouble when arroz y frijoles negros (rice and black beans) weren't legal. Like I said I don't want to belive it, But just tell me what you guys think, without killing me first. :confused

I don't think so. Some players slump bad for a few months, or for a year (Burrell in 2003). Doesn't necessarily mean it has to do with steroids.

I really doubt it. Guys on steroids tend to look big, & Mikey's never been exactly ripped.

Wilson Delgado, and most of the guys that have been caught so far haven't been ripped either. I don't think Lowell did, but it's definitely possible.

He wasnt big but you can tell he was strong if you see him up close, i havent notice any of the symptoms of steroids, he is hitting the ball hard now something he wasnt doing before just it tends to be right at the fielder wait for him to find the gaps....

I don't think for one minute that Mike Lowell used steroids. You forget...he had cancer and I don't think he would take a chance using something that could help end his life. Steroids ruin your immune system and that's the last thing Mike needs.

You got a point, and Mike Lowell and steroids they just don't go together, when I asked what you guys thought about it, it was because I had my doubt but I dont belive he was on them. We will never know. :plain

His bat speed is there

He's just chosen to collectively lead the team's take a s*** on our lives charge

Why does having cancer matter? You don't think many players (not saying Lowell did do it) would take that risk to earn millions and set up their family for life? People take all type of drugs that may end their lives for different reasons. I can't think of a better reason to take drugs that may end your life than to get a multiyear contract for about $9 million a year.

I have no idea if he did use them or not, but I'm convinced that he is done as a player. I wish we'd trade him for a bag of beans if we can get rid of his contract. Get rid of him and let Conine play LF. I'd rather use the money Lowell/Enc/Conine free up to sign AJ and Gonzo long term than take a chance that Lowell ever can hit about .250 with 20 HRs again.

Like Alex Sanchez?

It wouldn't be smart to take steroids if I were Lowell. If I had testicular cancer, and gotten one testicle removed, then I wouldn't like the testicular atrophy that most steroids produce or the many other side effects that we probably don't know of.

Nevertheless, the fact that Lowell took steroids and now is off them, is a possibility.

We'll just have to see how the season unfolds.

I really would have a difficult time believing Lowell has been on steroids.

But I find it hard to ignore that he is hitting with much less power this year. You see him make solid contact only to have the ball fall short on the warning track. In past years many of those balls would have been gone.

It could well be some other reason Mike has a drop off in power though, so who knows?

Maybe lost weight or something?

Who knows what happens behind those doors.

Like Alex Sanchez?Difference being Alex Sanchez took them most likely to return quicker from his injury.

And increase speed, if you believe the reports from track athletes.
