Beckett with blister on finger

Featured Replies

i think we were coming around, but this injury has to be a big morale hit. i can't believe it will be easy to stay postitive after this happens AGAIN.

How quickly things turn around. One inning Josh is pitching great, the next all hell breaks loose and we lost all the momentum gained the previous day. :confused

this better not be more than 1 or 2 starts or else we are in some serious trouble. just when the team seems to be getting some positive momentum too

The Marlins are currently unsure whether Josh Beckett's first finger blister of the year will put him on the disabled list.

''From talking to the trainer, it's not as bad as it was last year,'' manager Jack McKeon said. ''But we're still talking about 10 days, 12 days, 14 days.'' If that's the case, the DL is likely. Al Leiter almost certainly will be put back into the rotation with Beckett out.

I knew this would happen.

Congrats! What's our season record going to be??

84-78.

Its sad, but Josh is leaving first chance he gets. His skin and pitching style just can't handle the humidity. He's going to be awesome for somebody else. sigh.

Where would he go? That makes no sense...he grew up near Houston which is almost like Miami to the dot. Most cities up north are more humid during baseball season than Miami. Plus, his blister appeared on the road...not at home.

Calm down y'all.

Humidity was a bit too high and the temp. a bit too low.

When you have a cold, humid night...you get blisters. I get them all the time. When you have 69% humidity with 69 degrees, the body has a hard time keeping the skin at the right temperature.

(1) 70 percent humidity in the summer is actually a bit low, so he's screwed every start by that logic.

(2) 70 degrees isn't "a bit too low" at all, 55 degrees is "a bit too low"....maybe....

Come on Cape, if you are going to make BAD excuses for a player, at least make sure they aren't full of holes even at the surface.

Don't worry guys, the Zito trade is in its final stages.

Source? Or just conjecture?
