Posted June 18, 200519 yr But the guys in black deserved the loss tonight. It was another very unspectacular performance by our offense. I feel bad for Moehler because once again he pitched one hell of a game.
June 18, 200519 yr Embarassment of a loss. Brian Moehler deserves better than what this team is playing behind him. Pathetic. Alex blows a throw a little leaguer makes with the game on the line, and the offense can't drive in runs once again. The inconsistency of the offense is maddening. If we don't get one of our special "5 run innings" we can't score for sh*t. Manufacturing runs? How often does this team actually succeed in manufacturing runs?? Nevermind that the Nats lost & it was a gift opportunity to pick up a game... Just awful. Games like this infuriate me. I'm actually upset over how upset I am.

It seems our chances in this game came mainly from the guys who are struggling to produce.....Pierre, Conine, Gonzalez..
June 18, 200519 yr Mabye Moehler is experiencing some karma from when he was caught with sandpaper taped to his finger :lol . Just kidding.
June 18, 200519 yr Only people on offense who deserve any accolades tonight: Luis, Cabs, and Lo Duca. Those three performed.
June 18, 200519 yr Some very anti-clutch performances by our offense and defense. Offense once again doesn't give us any support. *sigh*

Jack should put him back into the leadoff spot tomorrow as he will likely get more RBI opportunities with the DH in the game.
June 18, 200519 yr Author Man JP is really killing us i wish he would pick it up soon. 815080 He was the primary culprit tonight. Not only did he not get on base, he had quite unspectacular ABs when he had guys in scoring position.
June 18, 200519 yr key moment in the game: Angels realize they need to intentionally walk LoDuca in the 10th & go after Enc & Niner. Because LoDuca was locked in.

No way a guy with his speed shouldn't get on at least once in six at bats with a bunt.

June 18, 200519 yr Delgado at least had the double late in the game...he shoulda scored on 3rd with 1 out...alex shoulda made the throw but ENC screwed up any chance of taking the lead back by swinging at garbage...trying to be the hero with one swing instead of realizing he should have drawn the walk with pitches bouncing up to the plate and set up a chance to get a few runs with bases loaded and one out

I feel bad for Moehler because once again he pitched one hell of a game. 815019 You say we deserved to lose...I say the Angels deserved to lose...they played as bad if not worse for most of the game...ONE CRUCIAL ERROR cost the Marlins the game...you dont win every game with a full effort...everyone needs to relax the Marlins had the game won its as simple as that

Sounds like you're trying to talk yourself down off the ledge. Is that true? The best I can do is throw you a bottle of xanax from my window to your window. But the bottle is fairly empty so it may not reach you because the bottle won't carry as well when it's light..sought of like a screwball that doesn't dip.
June 18, 200519 yr Alex Gonzalez and Juan Encarnacion deserve all the blame for this loss. Enc swung at three awful pitches, and on the last one it looked to me like he didn't care.

He's a cancer to the team.He breeds a "no care" laziness in his overall demeanor. It's nothing you can do it about it, but it just feels like bad luck. When he came back to this team at the end of last season I knew it was over.He brought the hurricanes in with him probably.Bad luck breeds off of Enc.

In baseball you dont win every game playing your best ball. Sure they left a ton of guys in scoring position but if our SS who would make that play in the bottom of the ninth, a play he would make 99 of 100 times everyone here will be saying great win blah blah blah this team has grit blah blah blah this team is awesome blah blah blah...if this team could be winning in the bottom of the ninth 2-1 everygame I would take, they were in prime position to win...a fluke yes fluke error occured to cost this team the win, plain and simple...sounds like you need to stop shoving xanax down your throat

But what about Pierre, Conine, Delgado missing chances earlier in the game. We should have put this game away early. I really can't fault Gonzalez and Encarnacion anymore than any of the other guys who had chances.
June 18, 200519 yr 4 for 6 aside from the other night, I'm hating JP this year. It's June and he has shown no improvement at all. Bench him, trade him, whatever, anything to keep him out of lineup. Alex Gonzalez and Mike Lowell are contributing more to the offense this year than JP!!!

He is by far the worst starter on the team when it comes to producing. Couple that with not getting on base and scoring runs and he is absolutely shutting down the offense. I love his work ethic and the energy he brings to the team, but if he doesn't get it going this year, then we need to look for a more typical run producing CFer and let Luiy lead off next year.
June 18, 200519 yr all we need is to be consistent, we dont need to trade pierre, MAYBE enc, but if we get the consistency of the marlins we all know and love, then NO one in the league will be able to stop us , we just need to find it and play consistent throughout the remaining of the season, cause theres nothing you can do about the past. and its only one loss, weather its by 1 or 10, its still 1 loss
