His answer was the usual non-answer answer, that Miadich had failed in the bigs before and that his performance in Albuquerque was an aberration. The other answer was that it was Miadich who asked to go to Japan seeing little chance of making back to the MLs. 820274[/snapback] It just seems like, with the issues the bullpen has had and how well he was pitching in AAA it was at least worth a shot to give him a call. What's the worst that would've happened? It's not like we're getting sterling performances out of anyone not named Todd Jones anyway.

He called that one right after the game, and there wasn't a confirmation of that on the internet until right before our next game the day after.

June 22, 200521 yr Rotoworld confirms as well Marlins recalled RHP Randy Messenger from Triple-A Albuquerque. We'd have picked Chris Resop first, but Messenger is another decent relief prospect. Messenger sounds like he has some potential.Looked real sharp in his brief appearance last night.
