I asked three people and got two responses, one of whom is often quoted here as an expert on minor league ballplayers. His answer was the usual non-answer answer, that Miadich had failed in the bigs before and that his performance in Albuquerque was an aberration. The other answer was that it was Miadich who asked to go to Japan seeing little chance of making back to the MLs.
