AJ KIX ASS

Featured Replies

he pitched a great game i've never seen AJ use his changeup and if he continues to use it along with the fast ball curve and slider wow!!!!!

AJ :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

how many complete games is that for the marlins

not to be pessimistic but thats one good game, he's only 5-5. lets see him put together a good second half of the season before i decide where i'm gonna put my 25 million bucks. i'd like to see him win another 10 games, we all know he's capable of winning every game he pitches. but is it the aj that tries to strike out 27 hitters or is it the aj we saw today...i want the ladder

Gotta resign him now, even if we get that kind of performance once or twice a year, there's no way you can let a pitcher who can single handedly carry a team on an off offensive day walk...

Give him his 3/$21 and get it done by the break.

awesome game thats the best I've seen of AJ in about 4-5 years....that AJ deserves any contract he's looking for

He just had a good start and that makes him deserve any contract he is looking for? Not so fast. Lets see if he can start doing this on a more consistent basis before we start throwing millions at him.

so would you rather have a pitcher with 300 wins or a pitcher with a career 3.14 era?

the one with the 3.14 era, because the 300 game winner is past his prime.

He said that AJ as in if that AJ pitched every time, I believe.

Yep that what I said

It was key that his pitch count was low early on, and the fact that he didn't lose it in the 7th or 8th inning like he has been doing in recent starts could prove to be the stepping stone in becoming just as trustworthy as Dontrelle on the mound this year.

A.J. needs to be more consistent. Just on this road trip, he had the great game in Chicago, the loss in Atlanta and the win today. If he can go on a bit of a streak of 4 or 5 games the way he pitched today, we should be in great shape.

someone mentioned that Aj was throwing a change up. From what i know Aj has a change up but only throws it as a gimme pitch 1-2 times a game. I dont know what he was throwing but i saw him clock from 90-97 on his fastball someone said 87-88 but i dont remember. Anyways he was mixing it up well and anytime a pitcher can throw, a 97 heater than an 91 fastball and then drop the hook in on you, its a good sign lethal, maybe hes maturing but its only one start.

W-L shouldnt be looked at when deciding on a pitcher's worth.

his era is around 3.14, which is very good.

For the most part I agree with you, but this is the probably the worst game to back up that argument. AJ single-handedly carried the team to a W and it's his victory.

Not to be outdone by Dontrelle, AJ was determined to get the W today. He looked sharp, stayed ahead of the hitters, and made his pitches when they counted.

Excellent outing by AJ today.

The last few days have been very encouraging. The team is finding ways to win games. Now let's keep it up against the Braves this week. Fortunately we do not face Smoltz in the 4 game series.

Well, yeah, but there's only so many days where AJ can blank the opposition. No one's perfect and the O only likes to give Willis and Beckett run support.

And to the hate on the 5-5, Moe's record isn't great either. He's had three or four tough tough losses this year, as has AJ, thanks to bad support. Usually this evens out but not completely. Besides, all you can ask from any pitcher is to keep you in games. Willis, Beckett, Burnett, and Moehler have been doing that the entire year (Al's on a nice little two game solid start streak) and eventually you'll see that in the stat book. Maybe not completely, but some W's will fall AJ and Brian's way later on where they shouldn't have won. It's just baseball.
