June 27, 200521 yr Spanish radio is the best for Marlins talk Obviously it doesn't come up that often being as they are Cuban news stations run by Mexicans, but no one is more passionate about the team than Felo, Yiki, and the rest of the Spanish announcers and commentators. Even hosts that don't have a vested interest in the team, like Ninoska, get into the act by having Cafecito con los Marlins (which she doesn't run anymore because she changed stations, but still exists).

Then 560 has Mandich (i think. i cant tell those old guys voices apart) whos delivery is dry and extreamly boring. but, i think theres just a little more insight. a lot has to deal w/ who has callers that bring something to the table and arent just dumbasses that just repeat what everyone else is saying. i say 560 by a hair. BUT you know who i DO MISS?! The guy that used to be on 940 during the after work spot. I forget his name but he was a local guy and im kind of pissed he didnt get a spot on 790 or 560 at a popular time slot. I thought he was the best sports talk radio host id ever heard.

June 28, 200521 yr I think without a doubt that it is WQAM right now. Boog is great though. Maybe he will bring his current station up, but they aren't even close right now to WQAM. Also, of note, I know that many people don't like Mandich or Golberg because they act like jerks at times, especially Goldberg, but you have to admit that they can be entertaining at times. Goldberg was really funny when he was on in the afternoons because after a long hard day at work, you can get a good laugh when some moron calls and says something that displays no sports knowledge and you just hear Goldberg with those classic insults. The only bad thing was that it got to the point that it seemed like people would call the show and purposely say something ridiculous to get him revved up. Finally, I like hearing the "Big O." He's been pretty good throughout his time there, with the one exception being when he got into that fight with the other radio person (I forget his name) during a broadcast. However, that was pretty funny too. The other classic moment was when at the Marlins 2003 Fan Fest, he and another host were interviewing Dave "The Paperboy" Sampson when Sampson made the now famous "I feel that the Marlins can win 91 games and make the playoffs..." statement. I remember that the "Big O" just started laughing on the spot before the interview continued with "Are you serious?" I admit that I started laughing too like many fans that heard that interview did. It was funny how WQAM kept playing that piece for ridicule for the first couple of months of the 2003 season and then again later that season to taunt Sampson by calling him a "genius." That was good radio. It helped that the Marlins won that year.
