It is time for a shake up, call the Yankees

Here is the trade, we get ARod/Kevin Brown and the Yankees get Pierre/AJ/Lowell/Johnson (prospect)/Stokes (prospect, could help at 1B once Tino is gone). The Yankees would have to cover the salary difference for this year.

The Yankees owe ARod $80 of the $133 million (Texas pays for the other $53 million) after this year for 5 more years ($16 million a year). If they pay $6 million a year of it ($30 million total), we'd cover the other $10 ($50 total) a year for his contract.

This would mean we would pay ARod $2 million more over the next two years than we owe Lowell and would have 3 extra years at $10 million a year. ARod could move to SS next year (when Gonzo is a FA) and move Cabrera to 3B. We'd have to rebuild our OF if we did that.

I'm not sure if ARod still has a no trade clause since he waived a trade to NY, so that could be an issue.

1. Castillo

2. Lo Duca

3. ARod (3B)

4. Delgado

5. Cabrera (LF)

6. Enc (CF)

7. Conine/Easley/Hermida (RF)

8. Gonzo

1. DTrain

2. Beckett

3. Moehler

4. Olsen

5. Leiter/Brown

1. Would you do this if you're the Marlins?

2. Do you think George would OK it?

3. If ARod still has a no trade clause, do you think he'd waive it to come to his hometown and be the hero for the first time in his career?

how many times have you made these threads with MVP baseball-esque trade situations? wake up dude haha.

MVPs? Only ARod. Dunn and Drew haven't even made the All Star team, much less been an MVP.

I don't think it is as crazy as some of you.

CF - Kotsay is off the market and I can't think of anyone else availabe. Pierre is starting to hit and fills this void for the Yanks. It has been rumored Steinbrenner has a hard-on for Pierre. The Yankees haven't had a real lead off hitter in years. He solves both of these problems.

3B - Lowell is a better defensive 3B than ARod. There is a chance he could hit again once the pressure is off him. He is a former Yankee farm hand and they may still believe in him.

SP - AJ is better than anyone they have right now. He'd be on the All Star team with the offense the Yanks have had. The Yankees may have the best offense in baseball and most of their pitchers still suck. They could sign him long term before Boston and Baltimore get a crack at him on the FA market. Also, he could help Pavano relax (they're good friends) and help him pitch better.

They've shown they want to rebuild their farm system. Johnson is a very good pitching prospect and Stokes may be able to help out Giambi once Tino is done.

The Yankees' problem isn't offense (even without ARod). Their defense sucks and their starting pitching is old and not consistent.

1. Pierre

2. 2B (can't think of his name)

3. Jeter

4. Sheff

5. Matsui

6. Posada

7. DH - Giambi/Bernie/Tino/Sierra

8. 1B - Giambi/Tino

9. Lowell

Even without ARod, their offense is fine. That line up is A LOT better defensively than what they have now. Not to mention the fact AJ is easily their #1 or #2 once he joins the team and Johnson/Stokes helps their farm system.

Some people need to realize that you can win a division title without players like A-Rod.

And some people need to realize you need more than two power hitters to win a division title.

Hmm, well what about the Angels, Nationals, and Padres?

The Angels have a lot of clutch hitters with high averages. Plus, they lucked out with Seattle sucking and getting a big initial jump on Oakland. Texas has one of the worst staffs in baseball. If Texas had a decent staff, they'd win that division with ease.

The Nationals are the luckiest team in the history of baseball. :(

The NL West blows monkey balls.
