August 12, 200520 yr you know after this year. I would love to get my hands on pinella as a coach down here. With Loria and his will to win. He would be a great coach.
August 14, 200520 yr Rays are 3rd in the AL, not baseball. And Cincinnati has been ridiculous. Marlins are middle of the pack...as usual. Narron is doing a great job for us. If we had started playing like this about 2 weeks before we did we would be in the hunt for the WC. It is like the opposite of last year.
August 18, 200520 yr Tampa Bay can do something next year. They could become my AL team. They just need to spend some more dough on players. :thumbup I'm jumping on the bandwagon! Like a good Miamian
August 18, 200520 yr The Cards have the best record in baseball now.. 905812 We have played like total garbage the last month now, i'm amazed it took you that long to take it from us. Luckily, we built the huge lead, so at least making the playoffs isn't a concern.....now what we do in them is....
August 21, 200520 yr Author The D-Rays have won 5 in a row and now have the 2nd best record in the AL since the all-star break.
August 22, 200520 yr Do most of you Marlins fans/Florida residents hope for the best for the Devil Rays? Also, if the Devil Rays become competitive, would their attendance dramatically rise, or are they just not a MLB city?

Also, if the Devil Rays become competitive, would their attendance dramatically rise, or are they just not a MLB city? 910764 I can't speak for other Marlins fans, but I personally always root for the Rays unless they're playing us in interleague and I make it a habit to go to about 10 Rays games a year. There's a lot of bandwagoners in the St. Pete area, just look at their attendance when the Yanks/Sox are in town, so I have no doubt if they were competitive enough to be a playoff caliber team their attendance would dramatically rise.
August 22, 200520 yr I have the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays (A) in Battle Creek which is 20 minutes from where I live. I root for them, but I don't root for the pro team much. They used to be the Battlecreek Yankees, and the Michigan Battle Cats before that (Astros).
August 22, 200520 yr Yeah, and with the dome, the temperature or rain can't be a bother (unless people don't want to travel in rain).
August 22, 200520 yr I followed the Durham Bulls somewhat during my time at Duke, but was never able to get to a game. It's a shame, b/c I hear the stadium is absolutely gorgeous. BTW, I just don't get how a team as good as the Bulls is a farm team for a franchise as bad as the D-Rays.
August 22, 200520 yr BTW, I just don't get how a team as good as the Bulls is a farm team for a franchise as bad as the D-Rays. 911251 Being bad usually means you have alot of prospects and good young talent in your minors system...
