Yet Another disgruntled Season Ticket Holder

Featured Replies

I just received by 2006 renewal along with 2005 playoff forms and wasn suprised to see that in order to get 2005 playoff tickets you need to renew for 2006. That is blackmail. I bought 2005 tickets in the 1st place b/c i could go to a couple of games and also get playoff tickets with nbo headaches and now they are trying to pull one over on me. I am not renweing for next year and im not going to a game again unless they are in the playoffs. I guess thats why the ticket base is dwindling when they treat people this way.

I would get on the phone and raise hell. When you buy season tickets, it says you are "guarenteed playoff priority" for that season. I'd call and see whats going on..

If you want to get technical they are still getting playoff priority if this is true, they are being given the chance to buy 2006 season tickets now which in turn get you 2005 playoff tickets, non-season ticket holders don't have that gaurentee, so they have a heigher priority, not a good priority though.

Season Ticket Holders Get:

Exclusive access to players and coaches

Guaranteed giveaways for every seat!*

Priority for playoff tickets!

Special Marlins season ticket holder gifts!

Priority treatment when we open our new stadium!

*Full season accounts only.

I did call them up and the person explained to me that without a deposit towards 2006 season tickets they will not process my 2005 playoff tickets.

This is directly from the the FAQ that i received in the mail:

Q: Do i have the option to purchase post-season playoff strips without a deposit for the 2006 regular season?

A: No, you must put down a non-refundable deposit by choosing Option A (5 payment installments) or Option B (50% non-refundable deposit) for the 2006 saeason to secure your strips for the 2005 post-season.

I still see it, and the kiddies should be getting out of school soon.

IMO the problem isnt the Marlins its you and your attitude. Talk about being a bandwagon fan. I bet you didnt even consider buying tickets in 2005 until the Marlins signed Delgado.

To get back to the subject at hand, I was none too pleased with this, but I figured I'm going to be a season ticketholder again next season, if they don't make the playoffs or don't go far, all that money is refundable so what's the big deal?

Yeah, I know it goes up your nose the wrong way and I understand that but if you're sitting there for game one of the World Series, does it really matter?

yes, it does matter. They mislead the season ticket holders. That's no way to run the organization and build trust with your most loyal customers.

Last year I received a form and I could just order playoff tickets.

I agree. You can't build a fan base like this.

I'm surprised that no one has gotten on the 10% price hike in season tickets for next season when it appears that our payroll is going to stay constant. Higher prices for diminished product.

Love the team, hate the organization.

Hey, my seats go from $12.00 to $13.75, and my kid's seats go from $6.00 to $7.50, do I really care? Compared to other major leagues teams, front row, upperdeck, at home plate, I probably pay half of what it would be elsewhere.

We've been really spoiled by extraordinarily cheap seats and slowly that's changing. No big deal.

Try buying Dolphins seats for that, or Red Sox or any team in MLB in the hunt for the wildcard, or just about anyone else...we still have a great deal here.

I'd be more worried if the Marlins weren't raising season ticket prices. :mischief2

How do you know if the payroll will be stay the same? Has Loria said "No I will not add payroll"? What if he decides to get another big name and spend money. And besides because payroll doesn't increase means its a worse product? You have no idea what they are going to do this offseason.

10% isn't much. Even with the 10% the Marlins are still well below the average with a 70 mil payroll. Not too bad if I said so myself.

I do agree though that it is kind of strange for the 2006 season tickets but in all reality if you are willing to go to the playoffs isn't it likely that you will be buying season tickets next year anyways.

talking about season ticket holder, for how many games do you guys get the plan for and for what days? Weekdays, weekends?

For every other team you can buy playoff tickets if you want. Then if they dont make it they just credit that to the next season. They never make you renew first then let you get playoff tickets.

What happens if you are moving or something next year or for whatever reason do not want to/cant renew?

I was upset when I was told that too and got my own form. I will be getting a package again for tickets. As for the price hike. It hurts my wallet but really it isnt that bad a of a hike. Considering the payroll this year jumped more then 10% from last year. But, the number of fans going to the game didnt jump also. Still the tickets are better then atlanta or NY or Chicago or you name it.

I think that's bull, it should be a privilege to get playoff tickets if you are a season ticket holder whether you renew for the next season or not.

I am so sick of the Marlins Ticket Sales. They are by far the worst in Major League Baseball. How about you get some better offers and see some rise to the level of customer service.
