hermida the next babe ruth

Mikey had a ginormous smile, like he found a batch of cookies just lying around(or possibly Jeremy's Mom made cookies for him to share with the rest of the dugout :mischief2 ), and he was happy about that.

There will be no questioning The Messiah.

In due time he will cure cancer. But before, he will smash baseball. He smashes baseball very, very much.

The Messiah has spoken.

More important question, is that from Justice for All?My post, no.

My theme, yes.

I'd rather NOT compare Hermida to Cabs....Cabs is a one-of-a-kind ballplayer, and comparing Hermida to a potential MVP candidate is setting him up for failure, IMO.

Hermida is a top prospect. I don't understand why so many people are against letting him get playing time.

My Cabs comment isn't a comparison of the two. MY point is that letting a rookie play has worked before, and it is working now for the Braves.

I'd rather NOT compare Hermida to Cabs....Cabs is a one-of-a-kind ballplayer, and comparing Hermida to a potential MVP candidate is setting him up for failure, IMO.Why? Both were the unquestioned #1 hitting prospects for a while in our system. Cabrera was always known as very talented with the bat and having a cannon arm, Hermida has been propped up thus far as a 5 tool player who bats from the left side. Why can't we be a little bit optimistic about our unquestioned #1 player coming up and doing well?

Hermida has brought excitement to this team already.

Will he be the next Miguel Cabrera from the left side of the plate? Who knows?

Will he turn into the second coming of Jerome Walton or Eric Anthony? Who knows...

For now, just let him be Jeremy Hermida, put a bat in his hand, and place him in the line-up

Im all for being optimistic- I hope he becomes a very good player. In fact, I think he will. But Cabs is a GREAT player. That's the difference. You can't justify it by saying they were both #1 in our system- one year may have been weaker than another in terms of hitting prospects. Do you guys think just because I don't say "OMG HERMIDA FOR MVP!!!LOL!!" or that I bust a nut every time I hear his name that I'm not optimistic?

No, but it wasn't apparent that Cabrera was God's gift to teal wearing baseball fans until a few months after his call up at the earliest. Who is to say Hermida doesn't have the same talent?

Do not blaspheme Him, though The Hermida forgives thee. Have you not seen his one AB, His Grace is apparent. Soon the Christian and Hebrew Gods will fall then the Muslim God after them. Just believe.

Marlins: Here's where one exception to the 40-man came into play. Jeremy Hermida got the call from Double-A on Wednesday and made history by hitting a pinch-hit grand slam in his first Major League at-bat. Look for him to play the outfield, with Miguel Cabrera seeing more of third base. Word is that Jack McKeon doesn't like to have a lot of extra players around in a playoff race, so Hermida will get plenty of at-bats.

Everyone thinks he's going to get his ab's so it looks like we will see what he can do right now.

OMG ARE YOU STUPID....hermida is not the next babe ruth...he could at best turn into a jeremy burnitz, mike piazza clone...francoeur is so much better, at least hes had 150 ab's. watch as hermida finishes the year hitting under 250

Well, Hermida's numbers were better in double-A, and as of now he's batting a thousand...

So, would you like to try that agin?

:lol

Wow dude...just wow. Francoeur has has 157 AB's to be exact, in 44 games. He's also struck out 34 times compared to only SIX walks. He's also seen his average drop .18 points in the last 5 games.

dont even respond to franceourisbarelybetterthanlowell

frenchy is so sick....he is much better then hermida..an average player on a 2nd place team..13 and counting GO BRAVES

5 back with 6 games left against the braves, and thats at the very end of the season. All we have to do is keep pace, maybe pick up a game and a half, and then beat you when it counts.

this guy is not the answer for the marlins...if he hits 400 they will still come in 2nd place

ANDRUW>CABRERA

FRANCOEUR>HERMIDA

CHIPPER>LOWELL (obviously)

SMOLTZ>DTRAIN

what else do i have to say

GO BRAVES 2005 NL EAST CHAMPS

Like I said, all we have to do is keep pace, and then beat you when it counts...like in 1997. That must of just ate you alive, didnt it junior. As for Hermida, how can you rag on someone so bad, when he is a Georgia boy, just like you(I'm assuming). As for the rest I'll take the bait.

Chipper>Lowell offensively

Lowell>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chipper defensively, so I can live with that since I'm a pitching/defense guy.

Hermida=Francoeur...Hermida>>>Francoeuer at every level of the minor leagues, in high school, and little leage, so whos to say he wont be better than Francoeur in the majors?

Willis>Smolts this year by far, the fact that you said otherwise makes you a moron.

Andruw>Cabrera...Jones finally put his offensive skills together, but I am betting it is a fluke.
