D-train tonight baby!

Featured Replies

19 wins and here we go. Will he do it? Be the first marlin ever to hit that 20 mark?

He has had an amazing year either way. This does make two years in a row that a marlins pitcher has been named in the running for Cy Young.

Either way for whatever happens. He is a pleasure to watch everything out and in my eyes D-Train represents everything that is good and pure in baseball.

Beautifully said.

Hopefully history in the making tonight!! What a great 2 1/2 year run it has been for the D-Train and you know that he's only getting started! :notworthy

Go Train! It's your birthday! Go Train.... ooooh ooooh!!! :notworthy

Lets get it done baby.

Can somebody tell me how in the hell we are still in this race? We have been playing pretty damn bad. Is that a good sign?? :p

D-train is probably one of the best if not the best pitcher ever to wear a Marlins uniform. Just a question thouhg, all the espn guys say there will probably never be a nother 300 game winner, do you think that if dtrain keeps up this streak of impressive seasons, he could be nearing 300 towards the end of his career?

Absolutely. At 21, he had 14 wins. He had 10 wins last year, and 19 this year. He's only 23 years old, and he has 43 wins. At this rate, even if he only averages 14 wins a year for the next 10 years (very possible), he'll have 183 wins. And he'll only be 33.

But something tells me he'll be getting a few more 15 + win seasons :thumbup

I think if Castillo and Lowell take pay cuts, then a guy as genuine as D Train would as well (but not monumental cut). It's all about his health. He's never been significantly injured thus far...but he is an all out player, and hopefully he doesn't break a bone sliding headfirst....or something like that.

Haven't we learned anything about threads like this on game day? :confused

Ya, it's bologna. The other day I posted about 10 different messages in the game thread saying the marlins would win, and that d train would win.

He won.

D-train if he wins 21 games this year would be winning an average of 15 games a year. If he kept up that pace he would need to play for another 17 years to end up becoming a 300 Game pitcher.

Tells you how amazing it is what Maddux and others have done.

But the truly great pitchers get 18-20 win seasons a few times in their careers :)

Agreed but then you need to take into fact the regression of ages and perhaps an injury year too. I expect him to get 4-5 20 win years but perhaps 4-5 10 win years :) Why I just did the average there :)

You are so smart :mischief

No Marlins on TV for me today, but at least I get to watch the Mets vs. Braves on 2 channels today and not just one. :plaindance

D-Train has already said he wants to be a career Marlin. I love his character, his heart, and his passion for the game. He plays it the right way and Big Tex and The AJ should take note, as should Vargas(but I already think he is following in the same mode, he just doesn't have the electricity yet), and Olsen when he joins the rotation next season.

I like that

Hehehe it is only conjecture and hoping he makes it that far. But you never know :grins: My hope would be for him to get to 300 wins in 12 years lol. It would mean he would be even better then now. But, one can hope. If he gets to 300 and all in teal? Wow what a show it would be

There is 2 players I want to see the marlins lock up for good. D-train and Miggy.

New name, same old Hot Rod Todd. Where did Big Tex come from? You can always just call him by his name.

The game isn't on national tv, is it?

I'm scheduled to get it in New York on ESPN2, so I'm assuming it is.
