Posted September 17, 200519 yr Marlins recalled infielder Joe Dillon from Triple-A Albuquerque. This should have happened when the minor league season ended. At worst, Dillon is a useful pinch-hitter. He hit .360/.459/.631 in 350 AB for Albuquerque. Sep. 17 - 6:18 pm et - Rotoworld
September 17, 200519 yr What puzzles me is where does Joe fit into the team? We already have a glut of corner outfielders in Encarnacion, Conine, Hermida, Aguila, and Willingham. And with Miggy playing 3B we already have an excellent defensive backup in Lowell. Could they be looking at putting him at 3B? If so then where does Miggy go? Why move him back to the OF where there are other "young" bats to try to get into the lineup. Although SS seems very unlikely I don't see where else they would put Cabrera when they start Dillon. Perhaps the team is ready to give up some defense to get the offense going? It's puzzling for sure.
September 18, 200519 yr Good to see him back but i dont know how this would help us, Mckeon said he didnt want to bring up so many rookies because they would be just sitting down and wont get much playing time, but hey their season is over i believe.
September 18, 200519 yr Does he share number 12 with Mordy or will he get a new uniform number? Sorry to see it took so long to get the call back.
