September 27, 200520 yr 1 ER over 7 innings good to see the kid doing a great job out there tonight. I think we need to fill up two more spots on the rotation, because I think Vargas has pitched his way into the 06 staff
September 27, 200520 yr yep, thumbs up for Jason. Gotta take the small victories where we can find 'em at this point. :thumbup
September 27, 200520 yr Beat me to it. :mischief He looked real good the last 3 innings. The first four he wasn't locating as well and the home-plate ump had a small strike zone. Nice to build off the start in NY.
September 27, 200520 yr Overall a good start. He's still learning to locate pitches and looks to have an in-road to the #3 starter next year. Shame he'd have to thrown a shutout to get a tie
September 27, 200520 yr Well, that certainly was a fun night If y'all don't go to another game this season I hope you'll all be there tomorrow for Dontrelle.

September 27, 200520 yr It was refreshing to see Vargas not roll over when things didnt go smooth. The rest of team should take notes because I was pretty impressed with their (lack of) effort...Go Fish earns those paychecks
September 27, 200520 yr BTW, for those of you at the game tonight, did you notice the field is in even worse condition than the last homestand (if that's possible)? The ruts in left field were beyond belief, the seams in the infield are a total joke. Last homestand I said I had never seen the field in such awful shape in thirteen years, well guess what, it's worse!

I guess everyone wants to get the game going and over, pack it and get paid. I don't blame them, since that's the mode that the team is in as well
September 27, 200520 yr Vargas has really developed into a great pitcher. Still has a few kinks to work out, but he is the future of the young guns of this staff. :thumbup
September 27, 200520 yr Oh yea! The crow strikes! :batman I cant see him as a #3 or #4 starter yet, but hes definitely a #5 in my book and hope he will only get better.
September 27, 200520 yr D-Train, Beckett, Vargas, and maybe Olson and Josh Johnson...would still like a good #3 starter next year, but if the team gets a better overall offensive line-up that can score runs every night, I could live with this rotation
